The Samsung HLM437W is a 43” widescreen high definition television using DLP technology with an aspect ratio of 16:9. The widescreen aspect ratio makes it ideal for viewing widescreen videos or movies from other input devices like the DVD. The native resolution offered by the set is 1280 X 720. The depth of the set is 15 ¾” and weighs about 68 ½ pounds which makes it really easy to install anywhere even if the space is less.

The use of DLP technology prevents the hazards of the screen door effect or image burn in which are prevalent in other technologies. The Digital Micro Mirror Displays (DMD) panels help in providing crisp and clear high definition images. Samsung’s DNIE technology gives sharp and detailed pictures having rich and deep colors. The 3:2 pull down correction feature is used for making videos or movies run smoother. The set uses a user replaceable lamp which has to be replaced every couple of years.

For the audio the set has two built in speakers attached inside the cabinet which deliver a total output of 30 watts (15 X 2). These speakers can also be used as the central channel of the home theatre system to provide excellent sound quality. The picture in picture mode lets the user view two channels at the same time. The second channel is displayed in the form of an inset in the upper corner of the main picture. The PIP functions on the remote allow the viewer to change the size and positioning of the second screen.
