The Samsung HLR5677W is a 56 inch high definition TV using DLP technology. The widescreen has been fitted into an ultra slim bezel cabinet. The set is just over 18 inches in depth and weighs in at less than 95 pounds which makes it less bulky and can be fitted just about anywhere. The size and weight of the set offer plenty of possibilities for placement like hanging, mounting or resting it on a stand or simply move it anywhere whenever you want.
The native display resolution of the set is 1280 X 720 with an aspect ratio of 16:9 which is useful for watching widescreen videos or movies. Samsung’s DNIe technology offers high contrast ratios and noise reduction to provide better picture quality even from inferior input sources. Samsung’s Cinema Smooth feature offers improved black levels while maintaining high contrast ratios of about 2500:1. The Samsung HLR5677W uses the HD2 chipset technology in which a single Digital Micromirror Device (DMD) is used to deliver high quality images with high color depth and deeper black levels. A 3:2 pulldown correction feature is used for smoother and sharper videos and movies from any input source.
The Samsung HLR5677W is digital cable ready including a CableCard slot which eliminates the need for buying additional set top boxes. The set uses a user replaceable lamp which is said to have a life of about 5000-8000 hours. The lamp should last you for about a couple of years depending upon your daily usage.
