Sony KDF-55E2000 55-inch LCD projection HDTV:

The Sony KDF-55E2000 is a 55 inch high definition television set using LCD technology. This set is an excellent option if you want a really big screen TV without spending a large amount of money on a flat panel set. The native resolution of the set is 1280 X 720 which means that all incoming signals will be scaled to fit the available pixel area. Having a display resolution of 720p the Sony KDF-55E2000 is a relatively cheaper option compared to the really high priced projection TV’s.

The design of the set too is quite commendable. The twin speaker system of the set is almost hidden under the screen and has helped the manufacturers shave off quite a few vital inches of the width. The set is equipped with a CableCard slot which helps the user to connect cable TV without the need of going in for separate set top boxes. Sony also is sure to win quite a few accolades with the inclusion of a couple of HDMI inputs which will be useful for anyone attaching plenty of devices.

The Sony KDF-55E2000 uses a three LCD chip design in which each chip is used for the color reproduction of the primary colors – red, blue and green. This type of processing helps in rendering images which are sharp and bright. The colors are rich and realistic. The picture detail of the set is slightly disappointing and will certainly not be able to match that of a 1080p set.
