Samsung BP96-01653A DLP Lamp Enclosure: Philips 132W / 120W Lamp

The latest generation of Samsung lamp based Projection DLP TVs utilitize one of two enclosures: either the BP96-01472A or the BP96-01653A Enclosure.  Both enclosures cover the HLS and HLT Series DLP sets.

The Samsung BP96-01653A Enclosure is powered by a Philips “e22” style lamp, operating at 132W / 120W watts.  It’s a 1.0mm arc lamp and its mean life is rated between 6,000-7,000 hours.  That equates to roughly 3 to 3 1/2 years.  Remember, this is the MEAN…we’ve seen a range between 2,000 to 30,000 hours on UHP lamps.  Information on how you can extend the life of your projection tv lamp, click here: 7 Tips for extending RPTV lamp life.

This lamp is avaialble from Samsung for $193.55 w/ the enclosure

GENERAL DISCLAIMER:

— Do NOT purchase generic brand lamps such as LTI, APO or third-party manufacturers such as OSRAM. These lamps were NOT engineered with and for your TV…only your Philips lamp has been engineered to work flawlessly and output the best possible color. Above that, it just doesn’t make sense to choose an aftermarket lamp for a $5-$10 difference (and in many cases they are more expensive!!). Be a smart consumer and do your research! Discount-Merchant.com promises to be the low price leader in all Projection TV Lamps they carry…if this is not true, let us know and we’ll fix it!
