The performance of the set is much more than noteworthy. Out of the box the set offers an excellent picture with really high brightness and sharpness. Some of the plasmas show excessive video noise especially during dark scenes but the picture of the Panasonic TH-50PHW3 was quite stable and did not show any noise. Even though the set has better black levels than most other plasmas some of the details during the dark scenes were lost which is a fault with the plasma technology itself.
