Syntax Olevia LCT50HV LAMP – Where can I find one?

The Olevia LCT50HV TV was produced by parent company Syntax Brillian (trading under BRLC). The company went into Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection earlier this year after defaulting on numerous loans. Per SEC filings in February of 2008, Syntax owed creditors more than $130 million! Today, Syntax-Brillian’s brands: Olevia & Vivitar are owned by a new corporation Olevia International Group, LLC, which falls under the umbrella of TCV Group. In short, it’s all a big mess, and that’s why there are no replacement parts available for these TVs!

Our sponsor, Discount-Merchant.com has secured a significant amount of replacement parts for these Syntax Olevia LCOS Televisions, including replacement lamps (the consumable bulbs), light engines, DMD and printed circuit boards, power supplies, remotes, manuals, front screens…you name it.

We’ve had numerous people ask us: “Where can I get a replacement lamp from my Olevia TV?” Or, something like, “I’ve searched everywhere and I can’t find the lamp for my TV!”

Why is it so difficult to find the replacement lamp for these Syntax Olevia TVs?
For one, these use a special type of lamp not common among LCOS, DLP, or D-ILA TVs. The typical lamp TV lamp has an ignition voltage of 15,000-20,000 volts. The Olevia’s prefer a lamp that ignites at 5,000 volts, hence, the lamps are not compatible. Today, it is extremely difficult finding these replacement lamps or any other spare parts for that matter. Let us know which parts you’re looking for and we’ll get them to you!

Here is a direct link to the lamp.

My Olevia Syntax LCT50HV no longer produces a picture. I suspect the lamp has blown. I’m get 1 green led flash and 3 red led flashes after the tv attempts to power up. If this sounds like a blown lamp, where can I get one and how much does it cost?

  2. You can purchase a lamp from discount-merchant.com when they are in stock. They typically run about $150 with shipping.

Hi, I have a syntax olevia 27 inch LCD. It was been giving me a lot of trouble and i was wondering if you could help me out. The TV turns on and can show the menu and blue screen. When i plug it into the cable it turns into a lit up black screen and cannot show any channels. I then saw that it still works with the dvd player and plays dvd’s without any sound. It also works with a lap top as a monitor. So my problem is it doesn’t seem to pick up a cable signal (when i know the cable is working) and that the sound seems to now work (the outer speakers were checked and can work properly) do you know how to fix it or what parts i need? thanks
    Kristen

Hi Kristen, Any luck finding a solution? Same issue, in that the Auto Channel Search feature does not find the (cable) source and I do have sound (DVD and computer). Having a feeling it may be the firmware? Let me know, thanks. TJ

    Tom,
My Olevia LCT50HV is doing the the same thing.. No picture, 1 green then 3 red flashes.
Did you find that it was the lamp? or was it something else? If it was the lamp, where did you find one?

Tom & Ron, how long have you had your LCT50HV before the lamps died? I’ve read this is a common problem on these TV’s. I just made the mistake of buying one dirt cheap on eBay, should have researched them a little further. People on Amazon are having the same problems and find it almost impossible to get help from Olevia.

I have a LCT50HV TV. Where can I buy a service manual for this TV?

  11. After spending 150 on replacements bulbs from manufacturer that only lasted 4-6 MONTHS, I decided to go through ebay and for $85.00 and my lamp lasted 4 years 🙂 amazing plus it was free shipping and easy replacement videos. Remember you only need to replace the bulb NOT the casing!! Use latex gloves and it’s easy to do.
