My TV is making a weird humming noise, what’s going on? What’s the problem?
This is one of those frequently asked questions we get…This is probably one of the most commonly failing part in RCA and Samsung televisions among other sets. Please help with tips and suggestions on how to identify this problem.

I have 46″ DLP Samsung TV and also sound was coming from the set. I had flashing warning that the bulb is out but at least the noisy fan came on shortly to let me know its state. I am waiting for the bulb to arrive soon. In my case there are 2 fans both with brushless motors. I took a part each of them and replaced suspicious looking bearings plus I dropped some oil in it even they looked kind of sealed but the oil was absorbed. I believe the bulb went out cause the fan didn’t cool it properly. Collection of the dust on fan blades can cause some imbalance and harm later on these bearings so it pays of to clean it out once a while plus also the dust disturbs the proper airflow. Quality cooling of these bulbs prolongs the life.
