Hi Ryan,
Sometimes the plastic lamp cage can smell very strong. It should become fainter over the next few days. Check that the fans are working and that the air filters haven't been blocked from dust as this can make the projector get very hot and have the lamp start to overheat. If it gets stronger or smoke starts coming out of the projector turn it off.

After replacing the bulb and turning the projector back on, I noticed a sort of plastic-like or rubbery burning smell. Nothing too strong and no smoke or anything, but I'm wondering if this is normal. Thanks.
