Ok I did all the above steps now my projector has a red spot on the left hand corner of the projection. What can be the cause of this?

    • avatar Shelagh McNally says:

      Hi Sunita,
The red spot in the left hand corner is probably a color wheel ballast problem and have nothing to do with the projector lamp. I suggest you join our forum for more help or contact your local Hitachi dealer to find out if they will replace the color wheel.

I just bought a CP-X505 at an auction and it won’t power on. It does have a lamp in it. Do I need to replace the lamp? How do you know if it is bad?

    Thank you

      Hi Marie,
It could be a number of things. The most likely one is that the projector lamp has reached end of life so the projector won’t turn on to protect itself. I would open up the projector and see if the lamp is not broken. Sometimes the connections get loose when moving it around, so I would check that. But it could also be the electrical cord, the colour wheel or the ballast causing problems. I would take it into a local repair shop for a diganostic.
      Regards,
      Shelagh
