Step 1: Turn off the power to the projector by pressing the blue Standby button .
Step 2: Allow the Compaq MP2800 to cool down for at least 30 minutes.
Step 3: Disconnect the power cord.

Step 5: On the front of the Compaq 215464-001 lamp slide up the latch to release it from the projector base.
Step 6: Pull out the Compaq 215464-001 lamp module.

NOTE: The used Compaq 215464-001 projector lamp contains mercury and should be properly recycled. Don’t throw it into regular garbage.

Step 7: Place the new Compaq 215464-001 projector lamp into the projector taking care not to touch the actual bulb. Oil residue from your fingers will cause black marks on the lamp when it starts to heat up.
Step 8: After making sure the Compaq 215464-001 lamp is in securely, press down the release latch to lock the lamp in place.
Step 9: Tighten the screw in the new lamp. You are now ready to reset the lamp timer.

Resetting the lamp timer counter

Once you have replaced the Compaq MP2800 projector lamp you will need to reset the lamp timer so the projector can accurately track the lamp hours. The projector will no work properly with the new lamp until the lamp timer has been reset.

  • Reduce the risk of severe burns by allowing the projector to cool for at least 45 minutes. It should be cool to the touch.

Protect the Dukane ImagePro 8771 projector’s top surface by placing it face down on a soft surface. Turn the projector over and loosen the screws on the lamp cover.

Use a Philips screwdriver to push and release the tab. Push up and remove the lamp cover. NOTE: There is an interlock on this case to prevent the risk of electrical shock. Do not attempt to circumvent this interlock.

Loosen the two screws securing the Dukane 456-8767A projector lamp. The screws are not removable so will start start freewheeling. Remove the lamp by grabbing onto the indents on the lamp and pulling up.

NOTE: The Dukane 456-8767A projector lamp projector lamp contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle your used lamps!

An interactive whiteboard is an powerful instructional tool that can help any lesson come alive. These safety tips and precautions will help you get the most out of your interactive whiteboard.

Safety first

  • Don’t obstruct the cameras’ view of the interactive whiteboard’s surface or edges. Avoid magnets, stickers or adhesive tape on the interactive surface. Don’t rest any objects, including the pens  at the bottom of the interactive surface. This interferes with the corner cameras’ ability to detect your finger or pen tray tools.
  • Tell students not to look directly at the light beam from the projector as this can cause eye strain. Encourage them to keep their backs to the projector and before turning to face the class have them take a step sideways out of the projector’s beam.

Make sure that you don’t look directly into the projector’s beam. Keep your back to the class when you write over a projected image. Step to the side of the interactive whiteboard before you turn to face the class.

  • Tell students not to touch the projector because it can become extremely hot during normal operation.
  • Never let a student stand on a chair to reach the screen. If your students can’t reach the top of the interactive whiteboard, remount the wall-mounted unit at a lower position.

Preventing damage to the interactive whiteboard

  • Avoid areas with high levels of dust, humidity or smoke.
  • Don’t use sharp or pointed objects, such as ballpoint pens or pointers, as writing tools.
  • Replace the pen nib when the nib wears out.
  • Low-odor dry-erase markers can be very difficult to erase. Use standard (high-odor) dry-erase markers but use them only in well-ventilated areas.
  • No adhesive tape on the interactive surface.
  • No abrasive erasers or harsh chemicals to clean the surface.
  • Never use compressed air to clean the interactive whiteboard’s cameras. The force of the air can damage them.

Keeping the writing surface clean

With proper care, the SMART Board interactive whiteboard will provide years of trouble-free service. Here are the best tips for keeping the interactive whiteboard working at its best:

    • Turn the interactive whiteboard off before you clean it so that you do not scramble the desktop icons or accidentally activate applications when you wipe the interactive surface.
    • To view dirt or streaks more easily, set the projector to standby (lamp off) mode.
    • Never  spray cleaner directly onto the interactive whiteboard’s surface.
    • To clean: spray a light amount of cleaner on a cloth and then gently wipe the interactive surface.
    • Clean your interactive whiteboard at least every six months.
    • Don’t allow excess cleaner to flow onto the frame’s reflective surfaces or into the pen tray slots.
    • The digital cameras located in the corners of the frame are protected from dust and dirt by windows. In extremely dusty environments, spray an alcohol-free household glass cleaner, such as Windex® cleaner, on a cotton swab and rub it gently on the windows. Don’t use compressed air to clean the cameras.

Resetting the lamp timer

After changing the lamp, you’ll need to rese the lamp timer. Do not reset if the lamp is not new or replaced as this could cause damage.

  • After the startup logo displays, resetting the lamp timer via the OSD menu.
    Under the Advanced OSD menu, go to System Setup : Advanced > Reset Lamp Timer/
  • Select RESET.
  • • Under the Basic OSD menu, if there’s no signal connected to the projector, go to Reset Lamp
    Timer and select Reset
  • If there are signals connected, go to Settings > Reset Lamp Timer and select Reset.
  • A “Reset Successfully” message displays to notify that the lamp time has been reset to “0”

Follow these important safety instructions before installing the new NEC LT260 projector lamp

      • turn off the projector.
      • unplug the projector from its power source.
      • unplug the power cable.
      • wait until the projector is cool to the touch to avoid getting burned.

Once the NEC LT60LP projector lamp has been replaced you will need to reset the lamp timer so the projector can properly track lamp life. You can use the ON-SCREEN MENU to reset the lamp hours:

        • Plug in the power cored into the wall outlet.
        • Turn on the projector.
        • Press the MENU button on the remote control or projector cabinet to display the Basic
          Scroll down to Press the SELECT
        • Choose CLEAR LAMP HOURS.
        • A confirmation message appears.
        • Select YES.

  • Replace the lamp cover and tighten the screw.

Resetting the lamp timer counter

After replacing the Canon LV-7355 projector lamp, you’ll need to reset the lamp so the projector can accurately track the hours left.

Reset the Lamp Control Mode only when Sanyo PLV-Z1X projector lamp has been replaced. Do not operate the projectors while any of the lamps are removed as this may result in malfunctions, fire hazard and other accidents.

Tips for longer projector lamp life:

  • Avoid frequent on and offs to avoid power surges.
  • Don’t let the projector overheat as this puts stress on the lamp. Make sure there is enough airflow around the projector particularly if it’s been permanently mounted.
  • Let the projector stand unused for at least one hour ever 24 hours. An average use of four to five hours per day will ensure longer lamp life.

Important Safety tips BEFORE replacing the projector lamp:

  1. Press the Power button twice on the remote control to put the system into Standby mode.
  2. Wait at least 45 minutes for the projector to cool down completely, and then disconnect the power cable from the power outlet.
  3. Disconnect all cables from the projector.

Step 1: Remove the projector from the boom

Loosen the locking screw and the knob on the projector mounting plate.

Put the old lamp module in a secure container and handle it gently until you recycle or dispose.

NOTE: The SmartBoard 20-01500-20 Replacement Projector Lamp contains mercury and should properly recycled and NEVER thrown into regular garbage.

Inserting the new lamp

Remove the SmartBoard 20-01500-20 replacement lamp module from its packaging.

Lower the replacement lamp module into the slot, aligning it with the holes in the slot.

Using the screwdriver, tighten the screw on the lamp module.

Replace the outer lamp cover, and then replace the screws holding the cover to the projector.

To place the projector on the boom

Turn over the projector. Replace the projector mounting plate on the projector.

Slide the projector mounting plate and projector onto the boom.  Tighten the knob and the locking screw.

Press the Power button once on the remote control to confirm that the projector is operating and that the lamp module is correctly installed, and then wait for the projector to turn on completely.

Wait five minutes for the projector to warm up.

Resetting the projector lamp timer

Your Smartboard 480iv projector has a built in lamp timer that tracks the life of the SmartBoard 20-01500-20 projector lamp. Whenever you change the lamp you need to reset the lamp timer back to zero. To reset the timer:

  • Down, Up, Up, Left, Up.
  • Scroll down to the Lamp Hour Reset field, and then press OK.
    Both Lamp Hour values (Standard and Economy) are reset to zero.
  • Press the Menu button on the remote control.
    The SMART V25 Settings menu appears.
  • Select to confirm that Lamp Hours is reset to zero.
    CAUTION: Do not use the Lamp Hour Reset feature unless you have just replaced the lamp. Resetting
    the lamp hour counter on an old lamp can damage your projector due to lamp failure. Do not adjust any settings in the service menu other than those listed in this guide. Changing other settings can damage or affect the operation of your projector and invalidates your warranty. You’re unable to reset the Display Hour value because it’s the running total of hours the projector has been in use.
