Installing the Optoma BL-FU185A projector lamp

Before replacing the Optoma BL-FU185A (SP.8EH01GC01) projector lamp follow these important safety tips:

Switch off the power to the Optoma EW536P projector by pressing the Power/Standby button.
Disconnect the power cord.
Allow the projector to cool down for at least 30 minutes. If should be cool to the touch. These projectors run using high temperatures and you can burn yourself badly if you don’t allow the projector to cool down.

1. Use a screwdriver to undo the two screws holding the lamp cover in place. The screws on the lamp cover and the lamp cannot be removed.

4. Lift up the wire handle on the Optoma BL-FU185A (SP.8EH01GC01) projector lamp and slowly remove it from the projector.

5. Remove the new Optoma BL-FU185A (SP.8EH01GC01) projector lamps from its packaging. Without touching the actual bulb, lift up the handle on the new lamp and gently insert.

6. Tighten the two screws on the lamp.

7. Replace the lamp cover and tighten its two screws. You are now ready to reset the Lamp Replacement Timer.

Reset the Lamp Replacement Timer

The Optoma EW536P projector has an automatic lamp timer that tracks the numbers of hours left in the lamp. If you don’t reset the lamp replacement timer you run the risk of the lamp being used beyond its recommended life and possibly exploding in the projector.

To reset the Lamp Replacement Timer:

Turn on the projector.
Using the remote press MENU
Select OPTIONS
Select LAMP SETTINGS
Select LAMP RESET
Select YES.
Press MENU to exit.

Tips for extending Optoma BL-FU185A (SP.8EH01GC01) lamp life:

Chose the “STD” mode to to dim the projector lamp and lower power consumption. This will extend the lamp life by up to 130%.
Keep your air filters clean to avoid overheating the projector.
Every 24 hours, turn off the projector and let it stand for 1 hour
Make sure there is enough airflow around the Optoma EW536P projector particularly if it’s been permanently mounted.

Step 2: Watch for end of lamp life warnings

When the Canon LV-LP19 projector lamp has reached its end of life the LAMP REPLACE on the projector will light yellow. Replace the lamp immediately when you see this. Other warning signs may be a dim picture, color that appears washed and a image that is fading.

Step 3: Replace the Canon LV-LP19 projector lamp

Before changing the projector lamp:

The Canon LV-5220 operates at an extremely high temperature so it needs to cool down for at least 45 minute before you replace the projector lamp. Trying to change the lamp when the projector is still hot can result in a serious burn.
Be sure to unplug the electrical cord on the Canon LV-5220 there is no chance the projector could get turned on during the installation. This could damage your projector beyond repair.

Loosen the two screws holding the projector lamp cover in place. Place the cover aside.
Loosen the two screws on the with a screwdriver and pull out the Canon LV-LP19 (9269A001) projector lamp assembly by using the built in handle.
NOTE: The used LV-LP19 projector lamp contains mercury and should be properly recycled. Don’t throw it into regular garbage.
Pulling too quickly can cause the bulb to shatter. Learn how to clean up a broken lamp.
Replace the lamp assembly with a new Canon LV-LP19. Be careful not to touch the actual bulb as oil from your fingers can leave black marks on the lamp.
Tighten the two screws on the lamp.
Put back the lamp cover and tighten its two screws.
Connect the AC power cord to the Canon LV-LP19 and turn on the projector to reset the lamp timer.

Resetting the lamp timer counter

After replacing the Canon LV-LP19 (9269A001) projector lamp, you’ll need to turn off the LAMP REPLACE indicator by resetting the LAMP REPLACE COUNTER in the Canon LV-5220. This counter tracks the number of hours the lamp has been used by the Canon LV-5220 and triggers the warning light when the lamp is reaching its end of life. Not resetting it after may stop your projector from turning back on.

Turn the projector on and press the MENU.
The On-Screen menu will be displayed on the left.
Using the arrow buttons, mover the red frame pointer to the SETTING menu icon.
Press the up/docwn buttons, move to the LAMP COUNTER option.
Press OK to open up as the RESET LAMP COUNTER box.
Click on the SET option to open a confirmation window.
The message “Lamp replace counter reset?” is displayed.
Click on YES.
Press OK.
The lamp hours will be reset to zero.

Replacing the Epson EB-S10 projector lamp is simple. This guide breaks it down for you.

Step 1: When to replace

When the Epson EB-S10 projector lamp is reaching end of life you’ll notice the following warning signs:

projector lamp indicator will flash orange and continue flashing until the projector lamp has been changed.
The message Replace the lamp appears on the screen.
on-screen image on screen gets darker
colors start to deteriorate altogether.

Check the hours left on the ELPLP58 (V13H010L58) projector lamp from the INFO Menu access off the Main Menu. With power consumption set to NORMAL the Epson EB-S10 projector lamp can last for close to 4,000 hours. With power consumption set to ECO, you’ll get up to 5,000 hours.

Step 2: Invest in authentic

Before replacing the ELPLP58 (V13H010L58) projector lamp follow these important safety rules:

Unplug the power cord on the Epson EB-S10 projector.
Let it cool. This projector operates using high temperature. Wait at least 60 minutes so you don’t get burned.
Never touch the bare projector lamp bulb as the oil from your fingers will burn black marks onto the projector lamp when it heats up.
Never operate the Epson EB-S10 projector with the projector lamp removed.

Remove the projector lamp cover screws and place to one side. Loosen the two screws holding the Epson ELPLP58 (V13H010L58) projector lamp in place (you can’t remove them). Gently lift out the Epson LPLP58 projector lamp taking care not to bang it against the projector.

NOTE: The LPLP58 projector lamp contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle this lamp!

Gently insert the new Epson LPLP58 projector lamp. Make sure it fits into the Epson EB-S10 projector properly. (Check that it’s facing the right way.) Tighten the Epson LPLP58 projector lamp. You can know reset the lamp timer.

Reset the lamp timer

After you replace the lamp, you need to reset the Epson EB-S10 projector lamp timer using the projector’s menu system.

Press the MENU button on the remote control or on the projector’s control panel. You see the main menu.
Select the RESET menu. Press ENTER.
Scroll down to select RESET LAMP HOURS. Press ENTER.
A prompt filed appears asking if you want to reset the lamp timer. Select YES. Press ENTER.
Press MENU to exit.

Longer life for the ELPLP58 (V13H010L58) projector lamp

Extend the life of the Epson ELPLP58 (V13H010L58) projector lamp with the following tips:

Set the Power Consumption to ECO option.

Tracking the projector lamp life

]Watch for these signs that indicated the projector lamp is reaching its end of life:

Both the Hitachi CP-X417WF Power and Lamp Indicators are flashing red while the Temp Indicator is turned off.
Color tone on the screen may also appear weak or washed out.
Picture has poor color quality.

Installing the Hitachi DT00841 (CPX401 projector lamp

Safety steps before installing the Hitachi DT00841 (CPX401):

Turn off the Hitachi CP-X417WF projector .
Unplug the power cord.
Allow the projector to cool for at least 45 minutes. It should be cool to the touch. This projector works using high heat and there is danger you can be burned.
NOTE: If the projector is mounted on the ceiling, don’t stand underneath the projector while opening the cover.

Prepare the new Hitachi CP-X417WF projector lamp. If the projector is mounted on a ceiling, or if the lamp has broken, contact your dealer for assistance.
Loosen the screw (marked by arrow) of the lamp cover and then slide the lamp cover to the side to remove it.
Loosen the 2 screws (marked by arrow) of the projector lamp, and slowly pick up the lamp by the handles. Be careful not the bang the lamp. The Hitachi DT00841 projector lamp contains mercury and must be recycled properly. Do not throw it in regular garbage.
Insert the new lamp, taking care not to touch the actual bulb. Oil in your fingers will cause a dark spot on the lamp when it heats up.
Tighten the two screws of the Hitachi DT00841 projector lamp that were loosened to remove the old projector lamp.
Slide the lamp cover back in place and firmly fasten the screw of the lamp cover.
Turn on the projector and set the lamp timer:

To reset the projector lamp timer:

Note: Reset the projector lamp time only when you have replaced the lamp so the Hitachi CP-X417WF projector can properly track the lamp life. Otherwise you run the risk of using the lamp beyond its lamp life.

Press the MENU button
Scroll down to the GO TO ADVANCED MENU option. Press ENTER
Scroll down to the OPTION menu in the left column and press ENTER.
Scroll down to LAMP TIME. Press ENTER To make a dialogue field appear
Scroll up to the RESET option on the dialogue box.
The lamp setting will be set to zero.

Replacing the air filters

Get more hours from your Hitachi DT00841 by keeping your air filters clean to avoid overheating the projector.

Pull the filter frame’s knob up while holding the filter cover. The filter frame will come off and the air filter will appear.
Take out the old air filter and insert the new air filter.
Put the filter frame back.
Put the filter unit back into the projector
Turn the projector on and reset the filter time using the FILTER TIME item in the EASY MENU.

When the lamp light on the Dell 1100 MP turns a solid orange, it’s time to replace the projector lamp. The message “Lamp is approaching the end of its useful life in full power operation. Replacement suggested!” usually appears on screen at the same time.

Replacing the Dell 310-7522 projector lamp

Before replacing the Dell 310-7522 projector lamp be sure to turn the projector off and disconnect from the AC plug. Let the projector cool down for at least 30 minutes. It should be cool to the touch. Don’t attempt to change the lamp when the projector is still hot as there is a good chance you can get severely burned.

Place the Dell 1100MP on a soft surface and turn in upside down to access the projector lamp cover. Loose the two screws that hold the projector lamp cover in place.
Loosen the two screws that secure the projector lamp.
Pull the projector lamp up by its metal handle. Pulling too quickly can cause the bulb to shatter. NOTE: Don’t throw the Dell 310-7522 projector lamp into regular garbage! Since it contains mercury, this lamp must be properly recycled.
Install the new Dell 310-7522 projector lamp making sure it is properly aligned into the projector.
Tighten the two screws that secure the Dell 310-7522 projector lamp.
Replace the projector lamp cover and tighten the two screws.
You are now ready to reset the lamp timer.

The Dell 1100MP projector tracks the life of the Dell 310-7522 projector lamp and will trigger the warning signals when it’s time to replace. Each time you replace the Dell 310-7522 projector lamp you must reset the lamp timer to zero. Failure to do so can result in you using the projector past the optimum lamp life and causing the projector lamp to explode.

To access the Main Menu press the left or right buttons on your projector’s control panel or remote control.
Scroll over the the Management Menu. Press ENTER to access.
Scroll down to the Lamp Reset icon. Press ENTER.
Scroll down to choose YES and reset the projector lamp timer.

Tips for extending Dell 310-7522 projector lamp life:

Choose ECO MODE: Select On to use the projector at the lower power level of 150 Watts, which makes the Dell 1100MP projector operate quieter and with lower light that gives more projector lamp life. Select off to operate at the 300 Watts power level.
Keep your air filters clean to avoid overheating the projector.
Every 24 hours, turn off the projector and let it stand for 1 hour
Make sure there is enough airflow around the Dell 1100MP projector projector particularly if it’s been permanently mounted.

Step 1: Know when to replace

Epson_PowerLite 1260_Epson_ELPLP58_remove_projector_lamp_cover

Remove the projector lamp cover screws and place to one side.

Loosen the two screws holding the Epson ELPLP58 (V13H010L58) projector lamp in place (you can’t remove them).

Gently lift out the Epson LPLP58 projector lamp taking care not to bang it against the projector. NOTE: The LPLP58 projector lamp contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle this lamp!

Gently insert the new Epson LPLP58 projector lamp. Make sure it fits into the Epson PowerLite 1260 projector properly. (Check that it’s facing the right way.) Tighten the Epson LPLP58 projector lamp.

You can now reset the lamp timer.

Reset the lamp timer

After you replace the lamp, you need to reset the Epson PowerLite 1260 projector lamp timer using the projector’s menu system.

Press the MENU button on the remote control or on the projector’s control panel. You see the main menu.
Select the RESET menu. Press ENTER.
Scroll down to select RESET LAMP HOURS. Press ENTER.
A prompt filed appears asking if you want to reset the lamp timer. Select YES. Press ENTER.
Press MENU to exit.

Longer life for the ELPLP58 (V13H010L58) projector lamp

Extend the life of the Epson ELPLP58 (V13H010L58) projector lamp with the following tips:

Set the Power Consumption to ECO option.
Clean the air filters regularly so the PowerLite 1260 projector doesn’t overheat.
Make sure there is enough airflow around the projector.
Turn it off when it’s not in use.

Track projector lamp life

Track the life of the NEC NP15LP projector lamp from the Usage Time menu.

Go to INFO menu
Scroll down to USAGE TIME to display the LAMP LIFE REMAINING and LAMP HOURS USED.
The progress indicator shows the percentage of remaining bulb life:
When the lamp usage reaches 0, the Lamp Life REMAINING starts a count down from 100 hours
When the count down reaches 0, the projector will turn off and not turn on.

Changing the NEC NP15LP projector lamp

NOTE: New air filters are shipped with the lamp and it’s recommended you replace them at the same time.

Follow these important safety instructions before installing the new NEC NP15LP projector lamp

turn off the NEC NP-M260XG projector.
unplug the projector from its power source.
unplug the power cable.
wait until the projector is cool to the touch to avoid getting burned.

Loosen the NEC NP-M260XG projector lamp cover screw.

Push and slide the NEC NP-M260XG projector cover off.

Loosen the two screws holding the NEC NP15LP projector lamp in place. (The screws will not come out only loosen.)

Remove the projector lamp by holding the indent and pulling up.

NOTE: Your NEC NP15LP lamp should be properly recycled. These lamps contain mercury and can’t be placed into common garbage.

Install a new lamp housing into the NEC NP-M260XG projector, gently pressing the projector lamp housing into the socket. Take care not to touch the actual bulb as your finger prints can leave oil marks that burn black marks onto the bulb.

Push the top center on the projector lamp to secure it. Tighten the screw on the projector lam

Re-attach the NEC NP-M230XG lamp cover by sliding the cover until it snaps into place. Tighten the screw on the lamp cover.

Replacing the filters

There are four filters in the NEC NP-M260XG projector:

Honeycomb hard filter – large and small
Accordion soft filter — large and small

Replace all four filters at the same time. Before replacing the filters wipe off any dust and dirt that came loose from the old filters. NOTE: The filters are made with two different types of material in the membrane. Both perform the same.

Push the catch to release the NEC NP-M260XG filter and gently pull it out.

The filter cover is fixed at six separate points in the projector. Bow the filter cover by pushing it slightly until it releases.

Remove the dark sponge filter and clean the filter unit and cover. Attach the new non-woven white material filters.

Filter unit: Attach two honeycomb hard filters to the NEC NP-M260XG filter unit.
Filter cover: Attach the two accordion soft filters to the filter cover. Be sure to align the accordion slits with the protrusions of the filter cover.

Attach the filter cover back to the filter unit. Align the filter until with the filter cover and push the protrusions into place. Make sure all the six mounting points are aligned properly.

Insert the two catches of the top of the filter into the groove of the cabinet. Push the filter until it clicks into place.

Reset the lamp timer

Once the NEC NP15LP projector lamp and NEC NP-M260XG projector filter have both been replaced you will need to reset the timer for both. You want the projector to be able to accurately track the projector lamp life.

Clear usage hours and reset hours

Plug in the power cored into the wall outlet.
Turn on the projector.
From the MENU select RESET.
Choose CLEAR LAMP HOURS.
A confirmation message appears.
Select YES.

Reset the filter hours:

Scroll up to CLEAR Filter HOURS.
A second submenu will appear.
Select YES. Press the ENTER button.

Extending the life of the NEC NP15LP projector lamp

Get your newly installed NEC NP15LP projector lamp will last longer by choosing the ECO option. The ECO MODE increases projector lamp life by lowering the power consumption. There are three modes to choose from:

Auto Mode: 4000 hours
Normal: 5000 hours
Eco ModeL 8000 hours

How to install a new Panasonic PT-D5600UL projector lamp

Follow this step-by-step instructional guide will help you install an new Panasonic PT-D5600UL projector lamp.

When to replace

Depending on the working conditions and setting of the Panasonic PT-D5600UL, projector lamp life may vary. The Panasonic PT-D5600UL uses the Panasonic ET-LAD55 projector lamp power and at 1300 hours the “Replace Lamp” warning is displayed on screen for 30 seconds. That message will be permanently displayed on screen until the Panasonic ET-LAD55 projector is changed. Don’t leave the lamp as is after the warning message or the projector will automatically shut off and the so the Panasonic PT-D5600UL projector will enter a standby state. It will remain in standby state until the projector lamp is changed.

Choosing projector lamp options

The Panasonic PT-DW5000U comes equipped with two Panasonic ET-LAD55 projector lamps. You have the option of using:

SINGLE projector lamp mode: Either of the projector lamp is used – projector automatically chooses the lamp with the shorter operating hours.
DUAL projector lamp mode: Both projector lamps are used.
Projector LAMP1 : Lamp Unit 1 is always used alone.
Projector LAMP2 : Lamp Unit 2 is always used alone.

When only one Panasonic ET-LAD55 projector lamp is used (SINGLE, LAMP1 or LAMP2 options) and it’s been used for 1500 hours consecutively, the Panasonic PT-DW5000U projectors automatically switches to the second lamp. When both Panasonic ET-LAD55 lamps are used simultaneously for 1300 hours straight, the projector will automatically go into standby mode. Create longer projector lamp life by controlling the luminance of the projector lamp:

HIGH: Use when you need high brightness is necessary. Both lamps are used with this setting.
LOW: Set when high brightness is not necessary. This reduces power and operating noise while using only one lamp.

The importance of authentic lamps

It’s easy to get duped into buying an inferior knock-off lamp posing as an authentic lamp. Buyer beware! Always look for the seal of approval and watch for telltale signs you are about to purchase a counterfeit lamp

generics have inferior parts so are prone or overheat and explode
generics have a short life and don’t last longer than a few months
Often these lamps use toxic chemicals as substitutes
generic’s can’t be calibrated properly and will damage your projector’s optics
copycat manufacturers offer no guarantee or refunds
the warranty on your Panasonic PT-DW5000UL projector will become void

Replacing the Panasonic ET-LAD55 projector lamp

Before replacing the Panasonic ET-LAD55 projector lamp follow these important safety step:

1. Press the POWER OFF button on the Panasonic PT-D5600UL projector.

2. Select OK using the right or left arrows on the control panel. Press the ENTER button. (Or press the POWER OFF button again. The power indicator will light up orange.

3. Wait until the power indicator turns red and the cooling fans stop running on the Panasonic PT-D5600UL.

4. Press MAIN POWER to OFF.

Projector lamp installation steps:

1. Remove the power plug and wait for at least 45 minute for the projector to cool.

2. Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the screw securing the Panasonic PT-D5600UL projector lamp cover. Slide the lamp unit cover toward the left to remove it. (See diagram #2)

3. Remove the two screws securing the fan unit. (See diagram #3)

4. Gently open the fan unit in front of the both Panasonic ET-LAD55 projector lamps. (See diagram #4)

5. Remove the screws holding the Panasonic ET-LAD55 projector lamp in place. (Each lamps has two screws. Take hold of the wire handle and gently remove the projector lamp. (See diagram #5)

NOTE: The Panasonic ET-LAD55 projector lamp contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle this projector lamp!

6. Install the new lamp unit taking care not the touch the actual project lamp bulb as oil from your fingers will remain on the bulb and burn black spots when the projector lamp heats up.

7. Use a Phillips screwdriver to securely tighten each of the two screws on both projector lamps.

8. Put the fan back in place and tighten the two screens to hold it in place. (See diagram #8)

9. Slide the cover a little toward the right, and secure it by tightening the screw. (See diagram #9) NOTE: Firmly install the projector lamp unit and projector lamp cover. If not installed properly, the protection circuit will be activated and the projector will not turn back on.

Resetting the projector lamp timer

Each time you switch to a new Panasonic ET-LAD55 projector lamp you need to reset the Panasonic PT-DW5600UL projector lamp timer.

Insert the power cord plug into the wall outlet and then press the MAIN POWER switch.
Press the “ I ” button on the remote control to display an image picture onto the screen.
Press MENU to display the MAIN MENU screen.
Scroll down to select OPTION2. Press ENTER to display the OPTION 2 menu.
Scroll down to SYSTEM INFORMATION. Press ENTER to display the SYSTEM INFORMATION menu.
Press and hold the ENTER button on the projector or the remote control for approximately 3 seconds. The option LAMP TIME RESET will be added to the menu.

Scroll down to select the projector that has was replaced. Select the lamp which has been changed

LAMP1: Replace the LAMP UNIT 1
LAMP2: Replace the LAMP UNIT 2
Press ENTER.
When the LAMP TIME RESET display flashes, press ENTER again.
The used hours of the specified lamp unit will be reset to zero.
Press the MENU button to leave the LAMP TIME RESET menu.

Quick reset:

When lamp unit 1 has been replaced: In standby mode, press the number buttons in the sequence of 737381, and then press ENTER.
When lamp unit 2 has been replaced: In standby mode, press the number buttons in the sequence of 737382, and then press ENTER.
When the projector lamps hours have been reset, the lamp monitor (LAMP1/LAMP2) will flash for 3 seconds.

3 steps to replacing the Eiki LC-WB40N projector lamp

Step 1: Buy the right lamp

Always install an authentic Eiki LC-WB40N projector lamp in your Eiki LC-WB40N to keep it working properly. It uses a Eiki POA-LMP111 projector lamp. Avoid generics for the following reasons:

Step 2: Recognize end of life warnings

The Lamp Management Function detects the status of the projector lamps and triggers the Lamp Replace Indicator to start blinking yellow.

Other indicators of an Eiki POA-LMP111 projector lamp needing a replacement include faded images on screen, distorted colors and a general decline on the overall picture. Change the Eiki POA-LMP111 projector lamp immediately whenever any of these symptoms start appearing.

Step 3: Replacing the Eiki POA-LMP111 lamp

Follow these important safety steps before replacing the Eiki POA-LMP111 projector lamp:

The Eiki LC-WB40N projector operates under very high temperatures. Let it cool for one full hour before attempting to replace the lamp in order to avoid being burned.
Turn off the projector by pressing the power button. Wait for the light to stop flashing.
Turn off the power switch at the back on the projector
Unplug any power cords.

Loosen the screw on Eiki LC-WB40N Lamp Cover and remove Lamp Cover.
Loosen the 2 screws holding the Eiki POA-LMP111 projector lamp in place. Using the two handles on either side of the projector lamp and gently lift it out of the projector. Pulling too quickly can cause the bulb to shatter. Learn what to do should the bulb shatter.
NOTE: The Eiki POA-LMP111 projector lamp contains mercury and should be properly recycled. Don’t place it into regular garbage.
Place a new projector lamp into the Eiki LC-WB40N making sure not to touch the actual bulb. Finger prints on the bulb will be burned into the glass when the projector heats up.
Tighten the 2 screws on the new lamp
Replace Lamp Cover and tighten the screw.
Connect AC Power Cord to a projector and turn projector on.
Reset Lamp Replacement Counter.

Reset Eiki LC-WB40N lamp counter

Your Eiki LC-WB40NA projector has a built in lamp counter to determine when the projector lamp should be replaced. It needs to be reset every time you replace the Eiki POA-LMP111 projector lamps. When the Lamp Replace Counter is reset, the LAMP REPLACE indicator stops lighting.

Turn projector on, press MENU button and ON-SCREEN MENU will appear.
Press POINT LEFT/RIGHT button(s) to move the red frame pointer to SETTING Menu icon. Press POINT DOWN button to move a red frame pointer to “Lamp counter reset.”
Press SELECT button.
Move arrow to select either Lamp 1 or Lamp 2. Press SELECT button.
Message “Lamp replace counter Reset?” is displayed.
Move pointer to YES and then press SELECT button.
NOTE: Be sure to reset correct lamp number otherwise LAMP REPLACE indicator continues lighting.
Another confirmation dialog box appears and select YES to reset Lamp Replace Counter.
Do not reset Lamp Replace Counter except after Projection lamp is replaced.

Extend the life projector lamp life

Get more hours from your Eiki POA-LMP111 projector lamp by following these maintenance tips:

Keep your air filters clean to avoid overheating the projector.
Turn off the Eiki LC-WB40NA projector and let it stand unused for at least one hour ever 24 hours. An average use of four to five hours per day will ensure longer lamp life.
Make sure there is enough airflow around the projector particularly if it’s been permanently mounted.
