How to replace the lamp

The JVC HD-52FA97 TV uses the JVC TS-CL110UAA TV Lamp. Before you start doing anything follow these safety tips:

  • Unplug the TV from the wall outlet.
  • There are a few thousand volts going through your ballast, be very careful!
  • It’s also a good idea to let the TV cool down for at least 15-20 minutes as the bulb itself can get extremely hot and you can severely burn your hand.\

Step One

Step One: To replace the lamp: On the back of your TV locate the lamp door on the left side. Use a flat screw driver to unlock it and remove it.

Windows 10 is the common operating system in many business settings. Sometimes when you’re doing an offsite presentation who may find yourself either using a loaner projector or laptop. Whichever scenario you find yourself in, here’s what to do to get connected and start your presentation.

Using Windows

Microsoft has made it a lot easier to connect your laptop to a projector thanks to the Windows 10 Creators Update. These have settings that make it a plug and play option. Here’s how to do that:

  • Go to Settings > System > select Display
  • Click on ‘Connect to a wireless display’
  • A new window will appear on the right side of the screen displaying all the projectors found.
  • Select the projector that you want to connect to.
  • You won’t need a cable to connect your Windows 10 computer to a projector is both devices support Miracast. Once you, select the option ‘Connect to a wireless display’ choose a projector and then the projector will mirror your computer’s screen.

Connecting the hardware

If there is no WIFI connection you’ll have to get your laptop speaking to the projector. Here’s what to do:

  • Turn off your laptop and the projector. Connecting cables to your laptop while it’s running may make the cable not be registered by the device.
  • Connect the video cable (usually VGA) from your laptop’s external video port to the projector.
  • Turn on both the projector and your laptop.
  • Go to the Control Panel and choose Appearance and Personalization, click Adjust Screen Resolution
  • Click Project to a Second Screen

How to connect your projector to a Windows 10 computer

  • You may have the reverse scenario where you have the projector but need to plug into an existing Windows 10 deskop or loaner laptop. Here’s what to do:
    Connect the projector to the Windows 10 computer
    Go to Start Menu, open Settings and go to System
  • Under Display, click Advanced display settings
  • Drag and drop the onscreen computer screens to the right or left until they match the physical placement of the real computer screens
  • Choose your main display
  • Now you should set what your projector is going to show. You do that by adjusting the Orientation settings and Multiple displays settings. Here are the available options:
  • Duplicate These Displays: This option shows the exact same image on your regular monitor and on the projected screen
  • Extend These Displays: This option stretches Windows to fit across both screens
  • Show only on 1: Choose this before you’re ready to show off your presentation. Then switch to Duplicate These Displays
  • Show Only on 2: Choose this to show only the second display, which is useful when hooking up a tablet to a TV for watching movies in a dark room
  • Click Apply to save your settings

Resetting the lamp timer

The projector lamp timer will need to be reset after replacing the Epson ELPLP71 projector lamp. This timer helps the Epson PowerLite 475W projector to properly track the lamp life. Only reset the timer when a new Epson ELPLP71 projector lamp has been installed, otherwise the projector will NOT know when it’s time to replace the lamp. You run the risk of damaging your projector.

  • Press the MENU button on the remote control. The Lamp Reset Menu will appear.
  • Scroll down to the RESET. Press ENTER.

The lamp hours will be reset to zero. The lamp usage timer shows 0H until you’ve used the lamp for at least 10 hours.

Be sure to remove the projector padlock from the locking loop if you are using it.

Loosen the wing nut and slide the projector away from the interactive whiteboard screen. Then remove the single screw on the bracket.

Using two hands carefully unhook and remove the projector from the projector boom. Lay the projector boom flat with the warning lights facing upwards.

Step 2: Remove the old lamp

  1. Pull off the outer lamp cover with the your finger and set it aside.

  3. Press on the tab and pull up with the handle on the old lamp. Release the tab. NOTE: The SmartBoard 20-01032-20 projector lamp contains mercury and should properly recycled and NEVER thrown into regular garbage.

Inserting the new lamp

  1. Remove all packaging from the new SmartBoard 20-01032-20 projector lamp. Press the tab, put the new lamp into the lamp slot, and push it all the way down. Release the tab.
  2. Tighten the two lamp screws on the SmartBoard 20-01032-20 projector lamp. Slide the inner lamp cover back onto the projector.
  3. Put the outer lamp cover back into its original position. Align the cover and tighten the screws until the outer lamp cover is secure.

  1. Using both hands, left the Smartboard 885i4 projector and align the hooks on the boom with the slots on the projector.
  2. To place the projector back into the boom, attach the projector plate hinges into the corresponding flange hook on the projector boom.
  3. Secure the projector to the plate with the original screw.
  4. Replace the projector padlock.
  5. Replace the projector cover on the top of the boom. Without applying pressure to the boom, replace and tighten the screw on the cover until it’s secure. Connect all the cables and put the cable cover back on.

Resetting the Smartboard 885i4 projector lamp timer

Your Smartboard 885i4 projector has a built in lamp timer that tracks the life of the SmartBoard 20-01032-20 projector lamp. Whenever you change the lamp you need to reset the lamp timer back to zero.

  1. Using the remote control, press the following buttons quickly to access the service menu: Down, Up, Up, Left, Up.

Use a Philips screwdriver to push and release the tab. Push up and remove the lamp cover. NOTE: There is an interlock on this case to prevent the risk of electrical shock. Do not attempt to circumvent this interlock.

Gently put in a new Dukane 456-8767A projector lamp and tighten the two screws to hold the lamp in place. Make sure the screws are secure as a loose screw can cause a bad connection while a over tightened screw may cause the lamp to notwork.

Replace the lamp cover on the projector.

Slip the lamp cover back until it snaps into place.

Restart the projector to reset the lamp timer.

Resetting the lamp timer

It’s important to set the lamp timer so the Dukane ImagePro 8767A can accurately track the life of the newly installed Dukane 456-8767A projector lamp.

Changing the projector lamp

Follow these important safety instructions before installing the new NEC NP14LP projector lamp

  • turn off the NEC NP610S projector.
  • unplug the projector from its power source.
  • unplug the power cable.
  • wait until the projector is cool to the touch to avoid getting burned.

Slide the NEC NP610S projector cover off.

NOTE: Your NEC NP14LP projector lamp should be properly recycled because they contain mercury.

Loosen the two screws holding the NEC NP14LP projector lamp in place. (The screws will not come out only loosen.) Re-attach the NEC NP610S lamp cover. Tighten the screw. You are ready to reset the lamp timer

Once the NEC NP14LP projector lamp has been replaced you’ll need to reset the timer back to zero so the . You want the NEC NP610S projector to be able to accurately track the projector lamp life.

Changing the Smartboard projector lamp

Your Smartboard 600i projector uses the SmartBoard 50030764 projector lamp.

Important Safety tips BEFORE replacing the projector lamp:

Turn off the power switch and disconnect the power cord and all connected cables to the Smartboard 600i projector.

This projector operates under high temperature and there is a burn risk so be sure to wait at least one hour minutes for the projector’s housing to completely cool.

Use the handle on the bottom of the SmartBoard 50030764 projector lamp to remove it from the projector.
NOTE: The SmartBoard 50030764 projector lamp contains mercury and should properly recycled and NEVER thrown into regular garbage

Using the top handle of the SmartBoard 50030764 hold it vertically and guide in into the Smartboard SB680i3 projector body. Gently press the power end of the lamp module against the projector to ensure the power plug makes contact with the projector’s power receptacle.

Resetting the lamp timer

After replacing the lamp you need to reset the lamp timer back to zero so the Smartboard 600i projector can accurately track the projector lamp. To reset:
  • Turn on the projector.
  • Access the service menu.
  • Activate the projector’s alert e-mails and lamp warnings if they’ve been deactivated.
  • Using the remote control, press Down, Up, Up, Left, Up to access the Service Menu.
  • Scroll down to the LAMP HOUR REST option. Press ENTER.
  • Scroll down to the EXIT option and press ENTER to exit the service menu.
  • Do not reset the lamp timer unless you have changed the lamp.
