    The NEC NP-PE401H projector uses the NEC NP24LP projector lamp. Follow these important safety instructions before installing the new NEC NP24LP Replacement Projector Lamp.

    • unplug the projector from its power source.
    • unplug the power cable.
    • wait until the projector is cool to the touch to avoid getting burned.

Shopping for a projector? Understanding resolution is key.

Resolution refers to the number of lines displayed on the screen. The higher the resolution, the crisper the quality of the picture.

Most projectors come with a fixed resolution that is completely separate from the incoming signal received. If you plan to use the projector with only one computer, it’s important to match the resolution to the computer’s resolution.

Here’s a list of the different resolutions:

SVGA = 800×600. The Super Video Graphics Array (SVGA) is a video-display-standard type developed by the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) for IBM PC compatible personal computers (PCs).

XGA = 1024×768. XGA-2 is a display mode with high color and higher-refresh rates than XGA. XGA. Introduced by IBM in 1990, this =standard is used in desktop and laptop computers as well as in projection systems.

WXGA = 1280×768. Wide XGA describes a display screen that is appropriate for business but is also suitable for watching DVDs with 16 million colors. This display was common in widescreen notebook computers.

SXGA+ = 1400×1050. This resolution became the standard for early graphics and monitors with an aspect ratio of 5:4 (1.25:1) for 17″ and 19″ LCD monitors. Allows 24-bit colour in 4 MB of graphics memory, or 4-bit colour in 640 kB.

720p = 1280×720. This was the first available High Definition TV resolution. It is still available but is not as popular as it once was now that the prices have come down on the 1080 TVs. By comparison, a 720p TV has twice the resolution of an analog TV picture.

1080p = 1920×1080. Known as Full High Definiton (FHD), this set has the highest number of pixels –1,920 pixels displayed across the screen horizontally and 1,080 pixels down the screen vertically. The “P” stands for progressive scan and uses the widescreen aspect ratio of 16:9. It’s become the ATSC standard in the USA and now includes all TV broadcasts, Blueray Discs, smartphones, Internet content and most TV, projectors, computer monitors, video game consoles and most digital cameras or camcorders.

This guide shows how to clean or replace the Epson EMP-5500 air filter.

 When to replace

Clean the air filter at the bottom of the Epson EMP-7500 projector after every 100 hours of use. If it is not cleaned periodically, it can become clogged with dust, preventing proper ventilation.
This can cause overheating and damage the Epson EMP-7500 projector. Keeping the air filter clean will prolong the life of your projector.

Changing the filter

Follow these steps to replace or clean the air filter:

  1. Turn off the projector and unplug the power cable.
  2. Turn the projector on its side so that the handle is on top and you can access the filter easily. Note: Standing the projector with the handle at the top keeps dust from getting inside the projector housing.

  1. The filter is attached to the inside of the filter cover. It is recommended that you use a small vacuum cleaner designed for computers and other office equipment to clean the filter. NOTE: Do not operate the projectors while the lamp is removed as this may result in malfunctions, fire hazard and other accidents.

Use a screwdriver, coin, or similar object to loosen one retaining screw on the lamp cover. When the screw is loose, lift off the lamp cover. (You cannot remove this screw from the cover.)

Gently insert the new lamp by lowering it into position. Make sure it is inserted securely.

The lamps timer be automatically be reset to zero.

Extend lamp life

Extend the life of the newly installed Epson ELPLP06 with the following tips:

Loosen the two screws holding the ProjectionDesign 400-0003-00 projector lamp in place.

Turn the lamp knob counter clockwise to the unlocked position.

NOTE: The ProjectionDesign 400-0003-00 projector lamp contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle this lamp!

Pull out the ProjectionDesign 400-0003-00 projector lamp.
Tighten the screws on the projector lamp lid.

Place the new ProjectionDesign 400-0003-00 projector lamp into the projector. Take care not to touch the actual bulb. Oil from your fingerprints will create black spots onto the bulb.

Tighten the screws on the projector lamp. Turn the lamp knob
clockwise to the locked position.
Put the lamp cover back on and tighten the two screws holding the cover in place.

 

 

Resetting the projector lamp timer

Each time you replace the ProjectionDesign 400-0003-00 projector lamp you will need to reset the ProjectionDesign Action Model 1 lamp timer so the projector can accurately track the lamp hours. To reset the:
  • Open the MENU option. Press ENTER.
  • Scroll down to the UTILTIES submenu.
  • Press reset the lamp time.

Extending the projector lamp life

  • Use the Eco Mode for more lamp hours.
  • Keep your air filters clean to avoid overheating the projector.
  • Make sure there is enough airflow around the ProjectionDesign Action Model 1.
