4-steps to installing the Optoma BL-FU185A projector lamp

Follow these important safety tips before replacing the Optoma BL-FU185A projector lamp:

Switch off the power to the Optoma DW318 multimedia projector by pressing the Power/Standby button.
Disconnect the power cord.

1. Use a screwdriver to undo the two screws holding the projector lamp cover in place. The screws on the lamp cover and the lamp cannot be removed.

3. Remove the two screws holding the Optoma BL-FU185A projector lamp in place.

Steps to install the new projector lamp:

1. Remove the new Optoma BL-FU185A projector lamp from its packaging. Taking care not to touch the actual bulb, lift up the handle on the new lamp and insert it gently into the Optoma DW318 projector.

2. Tighten the two screws on the projector lamp.

3. Replace the lamp cover and tighten its two screws.

4. Reset the lamp replacement timer

Reset the Projector Lamp Replacement Timer

The Optoma DW318 multimedia projector has an automatic projector lamp timer that tracks the numbers of hours left in the lamp. If you don’t reset the lamp replacement timer you run the risk of the lamp being used beyond its recommended life and possibly exploding in the projector.

To reset the Projector Lamp Replacement Timer:

Turn on the projector.
Using the remote press MENU
Select OPTIONS
Select LAMP SETTINGS
Select LAMP RESET
Select YES.
Press MENU to exit.

Chose the “STD” mode to to dim the projector lamp and lower power consumption. This will extend the lamp life by up to 130%.

This guide shows you how to change the Vivitek D825ES projector lamp.

Warning signs

When you notice the Power LED flashing 5 times consecutively, your Vivitek D825ES projector lamp is reaching its end of life and needs to be replaced immediately.

Be sure the purchase an authentic Vivitek 1000055-A projector lamp for your Vivitek D825ES projector. Although they like a bargain, avoid knock-off “compatible” lamps. You get what you pay for and in the case of generic lamps it’s usually a long list of problems:

Replacing the 1000055-A projector lamp

Before changing the projector lamp:

Reduce the risk of electrical shock by disconnecting the power cord on the Vivitek D825EX projector.
Reduce the risk of severe burns by allowing the projector to cool for at least 45 minutes.

Remove the two captive screws holding the lamp cover place.
Remove the lamp cover and place it to one side.
Remove the tw0 screws holding the Vivitek 1000055-A (5811100760S) projector lamp in place.

Click up the wire handle and gently pull out the Vivitek 1000055-A projector lamp. Pulling too quickly can cause the projector bulb to shatter. Learn what to do should the bulb shatter.

NOTE: The Vivitek 1000055-A (5811100760S) projector lamp contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle your used lamps! If you bought from an authentic manufacturer they will recycle the lamp for you at no extra cost.

To finish the installation:

Take the new Vivitek 1000055-A (5811100760S) projector lamp out of its packaging. Lift up the wire handle and gently guide it into the Vivitek D825ES projector.
Take care not to touch the actual bulb as the oil from your fingers can leave a smudge that will burn into a black spot when the projector heats up.
Tighten the lamp screw.
Re-install the Vivitek D825ES projector lamp cover and tighten the screw.
Reset the total lamp hour timer.

Resetting the Vivitek D825ES Lamp Hour Timer

It’s important to only reset the lamp timer when the Vivitek 1000055-A (5811100760S) projector lamp has been replaced.

Resetting the projector lamp timer without changing the lamp can make it work beyond its recommended hours and cause harm to your Vivitek D825ES projector.

Press the Menu button to open the OSD menu.
Press left/right arrow keys to move to the Installation II menu.
Press up/down arrows to move to the Advanced menu
Press Enter.
Using the or up/down arrow keys to move down to the Advanced menu.
Press the cursor up/down arrows button to Lamp Hour Reset.
Press Enter.
A message will appear saying the Lamp Hour has been reset to zero.
Press the Menu button to return to the main Installation II menu.

Extending the life of the Vivitek 1000055-A projector lamp:

Keep your air filters clean to avoid overheating the projector.
Use the Lamp Power option on the Vivitek D825ES projector and set to Eco Mode to reduce the amount of power used but extend projector lamp life.

Install a new BenQ MX761 projector lamp

Replace the BenQ MX761 projector lamp in three easy steps.

Step 1: Warning signs for end of projector lamp

When the BenQ MX761 projector lamp is reaching end of life the lamp indicator will start flashing orange. Warning messages will also begin to appear on screen. You may notice the image deteriorating or the color looking off. Check how low the lamp has left:

Press MENU/EXIT and then press MODE/ENTER to highlight the SYSTEM SETUP: Advanced
Press to highlight Lamp Settings and press MODE/ENTER. The Lamp Settings page is displayed.
You will see the Equivalent Lamp Hour information appearing on the menu.
To leave the menu, press MENU/EXIT.
You can also get the lamp hour information on the INFORMATION menu.

Setting the projector to economic mode will extend the projector lamp life.

Step 2: Be ready with an authentic projector lamp

Keep your BenQ MX761 projector working at its optimum levels by always using an authentic BenQ 5J.J3J05.001 projector lamp for your BenQ MX761 projector. Generic lamps may promise to work just as well but they don’t and end up costing you more money in the end.

Step 3: Replace the BenQ 5J.J3J05.001 projector lamp

Before changing the lamp:

Reduce the risk of electrical shock by disconnecting the power cord on the BenQ MX761 projector.
Reduce the risk of severe burns by allowing the projector to cool for at least 45 minutes.

Loosen the screw holding the lamp cover onto the BenQ MX761 projector.

Lift up the cover. Remove and dispose of the lamp protection film. Do not insert your fingers between the lamp and the projector. The sharp edges inside the projector may cause injuries.

Disconnect the projector lamp connector from the projector (Step #2). Loosen the screw that secures the BenQ 5J.J3J05.001 projector lamp.

Slowly and gently pull the BenQ 5J.J3J05.001 projector lamp out of the projector. Pulling too quickly can cause the bulb to shatter. Learn what to do should the bulb shatter.

NOTE: The BenQ 5J.J3J05.001 projector lamp contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle your used lamps! If you bought from an authentic manufacturer they will recycle the lamp for you at no extra cost (another reason to buy authentic lamps).

Insert the new BenQ 5J.J3J05.001 projector lamp first into the connector on the projector and reconnect the lamp connector.

Make sure the handle is fully locked. Tighten the projector lamp screw. If the screw is too loose or too tight, the projector may not turn on.

Re-install the BenQ MX761 lamp cover and tighten the screw. Reset the total lamp operation timer.

Reset the projector lamp counter

When the BenQ 5J.J3J05.001 projector lamp in the BenQ MX761 projector has been changed the projector lamp timer must be reset:

Turn on the BenQ MX761 projector.
After the startup logo, open the On-Screen Display (OSD) menu.
Go to the SYSTEM SETUP.
Scroll over to Advanced > Lamp Settings menu.
Press MODE/ENTER to display Lamp Settings page is displayed.
Highlight Reset lamp timer. A warning message is displayed asking if you want to reset the lamp timer.
Highlight Reset and press MODE/ENTER. The lamp time will be reset to “0”.

Extend the life of the BenQ 5J.J3J05.001 projector lamp last longer with the following tips:

Keep your air filters clean to avoid overheating the projector.
Use the Lamp Power option on the MX761 projector lamp and set to Economic Mode to reduce the amount of power used but extend lamp life.

Change the Panasonic PT-DW5000U projector lamp

Changing the Panasonic PT-DW5000U projector lamp is not difficult. Our guide shows you how!

Be sure to buy two Panasonic PT-DW5000U projector lamp to change both at the same time. The Panasonic PT-DW5000U comes equipped with two Panasonic ET-LAD55 projector lamps. You have the option of using:

SINGLE projector lamp mode: Either of the projector lamp is used – projector automatically chooses the lamp with the shorter operating hours.
DUAL projector lamp mode: Both projector lamps are used.
Projector LAMP1 : Lamp Unit 1 is always used alone.
Projector LAMP2 : Lamp Unit 2 is always used alone.

When only one Panasonic ET-LAD55 projector lamp is used (SINGLE, LAMP1 or LAMP2 options) and it’s been used for 1500 hours consecutively, the Panasonic PT-DW5000U projectors automatically switches to the second lamp. When both Panasonic ET-LAD55 lamps are used simultaneously for 1300 hours straight, the projector will automatically go into standby mode. Create longer projector lamp life by controlling the luminance of the projector lamp:

HIGH: Use when you need high brightness is necessary. Both lamps are used with this setting.
LOW: Set when high brightness is not necessary. This reduces power and operating noise while using only one lamp.

When to replace the projector lamp

Projector lamp life may vary depending on the working conditions and settings. At 1300 hours with the Panasonic ET-LAD55 projector lamp power set to high, the “Replace Lamp” warning will be displayed on screen for 30 seconds. If your Panasonic ET-LAD55 projector lamp unit is not replaced after the warning message will be permanently displayed on screen and the power supply will be shut off so the projector can enter a standby state. It will remain in standby state until the projector lamp is changed.

Buy authentic!

It can be confusing trying to find the correct projector lamp since there are so many choices. It’s easy to get duped into buying an inferior knock-off lamp posing as an authentic lamp. Buyer beware! You get want you pay for and with generic “compatible” lamps can leave you with a damaged Panasonic PT-DW5000U. Replace the Panasonic ET-LAD55 projector lamp

Before replacing the Panasonic ET-LAD55 projector lamp follow these important steps to properly turn othe power Panasonic PT-DW5000U projector:

1. Press the POWER OFF button
2. Select OK using the right or left arrows on the control panel. Press the ENTER button. (Or press the POWER OFF button again. The power indicator will light up orange.

3. Wait until the power indica Panasonic-PT-DW5000U_ET-LAD55_projector_lamp_turn_off_step3 tor turns red and the cooling fans stop running.
4. Press MAIN POWER to OFF.

Install the new projector lamp:

1. Remove the power plug and wait for at least 45 minute for the projector to cool.

2. Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the screw securing the projector lamp cover. Slide the lamp unit cover toward the left to remove it. (See diagram #2)

3. Remove the two screws securing the fan unit. (See diagram #3)

4. Gently open the fan unit in front of the both Panasonic ET-LAD55 projector lamps. (See diagram #4)

5. Remove the screws holding the Panasonic ET-LAD55 projector lamp in place. (Each lamps has two screws. Take hold of the wire handle and gently remove the projector lamp. (See diagram #5)

NOTE: The Panasonic ET-LAD55 projector lamp contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle this projector lamp!

6. Install the new lamp unit taking care not the touch the actual project lamp bulb as oil from your fingers will remain on the bulb and burn black spots when the projector lamp heats up.

7. Use a Phillips screwdriver to securely tighten each of the two screws on both projector lamps.

8. Put the fan back in place and tighten the two screens to hold it in place. (See diagram #8)

9. Slide the cover a little toward the right, and secure it by tightening the screw. (See diagram #9)

NOTE: Firmly install the projector lamp unit and projector lamp cover. If not installed properly, the protection circuit will be activated and the projector will not turn back on.

To reset the projector lamp timer

Each time you switch to a new Panasonic ET-LAD55 projector lamp you need to reset the Panasonic PT-DW5000U projector lamp timer.

Insert the power cord plug into the wall outlet and then press the MAIN POWER switch.
Press the “ I ” button on the remote control to display an image picture onto the screen.
Press MENU to display the MAIN MENU screen.
Scroll down to select OPTION2. Press ENTER to display the OPTION 2 menu.
Scroll down to SYSTEM INFORMATION. Press ENTER to display the SYSTEM INFORMATION menu.
Press and hold the ENTER button on the projector or the remote control for approximately 3 seconds. The option LAMP TIME RESET will be added to the menu.

Scroll down to select the projector that has was replaced. Select the lamp which has been changed

LAMP1: Replace the LAMP UNIT 1
LAMP2: Replace the LAMP UNIT 2
Press ENTER.
When the LAMP TIME RESET display flashes, press ENTER again.
The used hours of the specified lamp unit will be reset to zero.
Press the MENU button to leave the LAMP TIME RESET menu.

Quick reset:

When lamp unit 1 has been replaced: In standby mode, press the number buttons in the sequence of 737381, and then press ENTER.
When lamp unit 2 has been replaced: In standby mode, press the number buttons in the sequence of 737382, and then press ENTER.
When the projector lamps hours have been reset, the lamp monitor (LAMP1/LAMP2) will flash for 3 seconds.

How to replace the Epson EX3200 projector lamp

When the Epson EX3200 projector lamp has reached it’s end of life use this guide to help you replace the projector lamp.

Keep track of projector lamp life

You can expect the Epson EX3200 projector lamp to last for close the 4,000 hours when the Power Consumption is set to Normal and 5,000 hours if the ECO option is used. You can check the hours left on the ELPLP58 projector lamp from the INFO Menu access off the Main Menu.

When the Epson ELPLP58 projector lamp is reaching end of life the projector lamp indicator will flash orange and continue flashing until the projector lamp has been changed.

The message Replace the lamp also appears on the screen. You may also the image on screen gets darker or starts deteriorate altogether. In order to maintain projector brightness and image quality, replace the Epson LPLP58 projector lamp as soon as possible.

Replacing the ELPLP58 (V13H010L58) projector lamp

Before replacing the ELPLP58 (V13H010L58) projector lamp follow these important safety rules:

Always unplug the power cord on the Epson EX3200 projector before replacing the projector lamp.
This projector operates using high temperature. Wait at least 60 minutes before replacing the lamp so you don’t run the risk of getting burned.
Never touch the bare projector lamp bulb as the oil from your fingers will burn black marks onto the projector lamp when it heats up.
Never operate the Epson EX3200 projector with the projector lamp removed.

Remove the projector lamp cover screws and place to one side.

Loosen the two screws holding the Epson ELPLP58 (V13H010L58) projector lamp in place (you can’t remove them).

Gently lift out the Epson LPLP58 projector lamp taking care not to bang it against the projector. NOTE: The LPLP58 projector lamp contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle this lamp!

Gently insert the new Epson LPLP58 projector lamp. Make sure it fits into the Epson EX3200 projector properly. (Check that it’s facing the right way.)

Tighten the Epson LPLP58 projector lamp.

You can know reset the lamp timer.

Reset the lamp timer

After you replace the lamp, you need to reset the Epson EX3200 projector lamp timer using the projector’s menu system.

Press the MENU button on the remote control or on the projector’s control panel. You see the main menu.
Select the RESET menu. Press ENTER.
Scroll down to select RESET LAMP HOURS. Press ENTER.
A prompt filed appears asking if you want to reset the lamp timer. Select YES. Press ENTER.
Press MENU to exit.

Longer life for the ELPLP58 (V13H010L58) projector lamp

Extend the life of the Epson ELPLP58 (V13H010L58) projector lamp with the following tips:

Set the Power Consumption to ECO option.
Clean the air filters regularly so the Epson EX3200 projector doesn’t overheat.
Make sure there is enough airflow around the projector.

Install a new Sony VPL-HW30ES projector lamp

When to replace?

The Sony VPL-HW30ES projector is a home theater projector able to handle 3D and HD images. It uses the Sony LMP-H202 lamp and when this Sony VPL-HW30ES projector lamp is reaching its end of life, the Lamp/Cover light on the Sony VPL-HW30ES projector starts flashing red. It will continue to flash in 3 second intervals while the message “Please replace the Lamp/Filter” appears on the screen. As the the lamp dims and the color balance of the picture goes off, you will need to replace the Sony LMP-H202 projector lamp immediately.

Authentic lamps are critical!

Replacing the Sony LMP-H202 Lamp and Air Filter

Sony recommends replacing the air filter at the same as replacing the lamp.

Replacing the Lamp

Before replacing the Sony LMP-H202 projector lamp let the projector cool at least 30 – 45 minutes. This projector operates under high temperatures and you can get badly burned if the projector has not cooled down.
Unplug the AC power cord on the Sony VPL-HW30ES projector.
The projector lamp cover is on the bottom of the projector so you will need to turn it over. Put down a soft cloth on a flat surface to prevent the projector getting scratched. Turn the projector over gently. Don’t lean on the projector and make sure the surface is flat and stable.
Using a Philips screwdriver, loosen the screw holding the projector lamp cover in place. Slide the projector lamp cover off the Sony VPL-HW30ES projector. Put it to one side.

Loosen the 3 screws on the Sony LMP-H202 projector lamp using a Phillips screwdriver. Grab the old LMP-H202 projector lamp by the indented side handles and and pull the lamp straight out. Take care not to bang the lamp as you can cause the bulb to break.
NOTE: The Sony LMP-H202 projector lamp contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle this lamp!

To finish the projector lamp installation:

Remove the packaging from the new projector lamp.
Lift up the handle and slowly lower the projector lamp into the projector.
Push it in securely until it reaches the end.
Tighten the three screws on the lamp.
Be careful not to touch the optical block inside the projector as this can damage the picture.
Also don’t touch the actual bulb in the new lamp as oily fingerprints can burn a black spot on the lamp when it heats up.
Slide the lamp cover back onto the Sony VPL-HW30ES projector.
Close the projector lamp cover and tighten the screws.
Remember to install the lamp cover properly as the projector will not turn on if the cover is loose or not installed correctly.

Replacing the air filter

Remove the filter holder. The air filter will be inside the holder. Don’t touch the fan inside as this can damage the projector.
Remove the old Sony VPL-HW30AES filter and put it to one side. Attach the new air filter so that is fits into the 10 claws properly on the holder.
Aligning the air filter with the shape of the filter holder will make it easier to install.

Be sure to put the air filter holder back into the projector making sure it aligned up properly. If not, the projector will not turn back on!

Wipe off any dust from the ventilation intake holes using a soft cloth. Put the projector back in its original position and turn it on. You’ll need to reset the lamp timer.

Resetting the projector lamp timer

Turn the Sony VPL-HW30ES projector back on.
Using the remote, scroll down to the Setup Menu.
Press Enter.

A Lamp Setting message will appear asking you if the projector lamp has been replaced.
Click on Yes.

You will see a confirmation message and the Projector Lamp Timer will be automatically reset to zero.
You can see the number of hours left on your lamp by going to the Information Menu.

When to replace the projector lamp

Installing the Optoma BL-FU185A projector lamp

Before replacing the Optoma BL-FU185A projector lamp follow these important safety tips:

Switch off the power to the Optoma DS323 projector by pressing the Power/Standby button.
Disconnect the power cord.
Allow the projector to cool down for at least 30 minutes. If should be cool to the touch. These projectors run using high temperatures and you can burn yourself badly if you don’t allow the projector to cool down.

1. Use a screwdriver to undo the two screws holding the projector lamp cover in place. The screws on the lamp cover and the lamp cannot be removed.

2. Remove the lid and place to one side. Don’t lose the lid as the Optoma DS323 projector will not turn back on until the lamp cover has been properly installed.

3. Remove the two screws holding the Optoma BL-FU185A projector lamp in place.

Note: The used Optoma BL-FU185A projector lamp contains mercury and should be properly recycled. Don’t throw it into regular garbage.

4. Lift up the wire handle on the Optoma BL-FU185A lamp and slowly remove it from the projector. Be careful not to bang the lamp against the projector as this may case the bulb to break. Learn what to do if the lamp has exploded inside the projector.

5. Remove the new Optoma BL-FU185A from its packaging. Taking care not to touch the actual bulb, lift up the handle on the new projector lamp and insert it gently into the Optoma DS323 projector.

6. Tighten the two screws on the lamp.

7. Replace the lamp cover and tighten its two screws.

Reset the Lamp Replacement Timer

The Optoma DS323 projector has an automatic lamp timer that tracks the numbers of hours left in the projector lamp. When the Optoma BL-FU185A is approaching end of life, the lamp replacement timer will trigger the warning system. If you don’t reset the lamp replacement timer you run the risk of the lamp being used beyond its recommended life and possibly exploding in the projector.

Should the lamp explode, learn what to do.

To reset the Lamp Replacement Timer:

Turn on the projector.
Using the remote press MENU
Select OPTIONS
Select LAMP SETTINGS
Select LAMP RESET
Select YES.
Press MENU to exit.

Extend the life of the Optoma BL-FU185A projector lamp:

Chose the “STD” mode to to dim the projector lamp and lower power consumption. This will extend the lamp life by up to 130%.
Keep your air filters clean to avoid overheating the projector.

Replacing the projector lamp

Before replacing the Dell 310-7522 projector lamp be sure to turn the projector off and disconnect from the AC plug. Let the projector cool down for at least 30 minutes. It should be cool to the touch. Don’t attempt to change the lamp when the projector is still hot as there is a good chance you can get severely burned.

Place the Dell 1200MP on a soft surface and turn in upside down to access the projector lamp cover. Loose the two screws that hold the projector lamp cover in place.
Loosen the two screws that secure the projector lamp.
Pull the projector lamp up by its metal handle. Pulling too quickly can cause the bulb to shatter. NOTE: Don’t throw the Dell 310-7522 projector lamp into regular garbage! Since it contains mercury, this lamp must be properly recycled.
Install the new Dell 310-7522 projector lamp making sure it is properly aligned into the projector.
Tighten the two screws that secure the Dell 310-7522 projector lamp.
Replace the projector lamp cover and tighten the two screws.
You are now ready to reset the lamp timer.

Resettting the projector lamp counter

The Dell 1200MP projector tracks the life of the Dell 310-7522 projector lamp and will trigger the warning signals when it’s time to replace. Each time you replace the Dell 310-7522 projector lamp you must reset the lamp timer to zero. Failure to do so can result in you using the projector past the optimum lamp life and causing the projector lamp to explode.

To access the Main Menu press the left or right buttons on your projector’s control panel or remote control.
Scroll over the the Management Menu. Press ENTER to access.
Scroll down to the Lamp Reset icon. Press ENTER.

The importance of an authentic projector lamp

You want to keep your Canon LV-7555E projector working properly. The best way to do that is to always install authentic OEM Canon LV-7555E projector lamp. You may be tempted to buy a generic lamp sold at discount prices. These projector lamps actually cost more since the have a much shorter life and are prone to explosions. There are health and safety concerns as well, since these lamps have been created with carcinogenic, toxic substitutes. Installing generic lamps into your Canon LV-7555E projector also voids your warranty. Generics are not worth the few extra dollars you save. Go with an OEM Canon LV-LP17 (9015A001) lamp.

Replacing the Canon LV-LP17 projector lamp

Before changing the projector lamp:

Allow the Canon LV-7555E to cool down for at least 45 minutes. This projector operates at an extremely high temperature and you can get burned. Don’t rush it.
Unplug the electrical cord so there is no chance the projector could get turned on during the installation. This could damage your projector and also give you a shock.

To replace the projector lamp:

Loosen the two screws holding the lamp cover in place. Place the cover aside.
Loosen the two screws on the with a screwdriver and pull out the Canon LV-LP17 (9015A001) projector lamp assembly by using the built in handle.
NOTE: The used LV-LP17 projector lamp contains mercury and should be properly recycled. Don’t throw it into regular garbage.
Pulling too quickly can cause the bulb to shatter. Learn how to clean up a broken lamp.
Replace the lamp assembly with a new Canon LV-LP17. Be careful not to touch the actual bulb as oil from your fingers can leave black marks on the lamp.
Tighten the two screws on the lamp.
Put back the lamp cover and tighten its two screws.
Connect the AC power cord to the Canon LV-7555E projector and turn on the projector to reset the lamp timer.

Resetting the Canon LV-7555E lamp timer counter

After replacing the Canon LV-LP13 (7670A001) projector lamp, you’ll need to turn off the LAMP REPLACE indicator by resetting the LAMP REPLACE COUNTER. The counter tracks the number of hours the Canon LV-7555E projector lamp has been used and triggers the warning light when the projector lamp is reaching its end of life. Not resetting it after may stop your projector from turning back on.

Turn the projector on and press the MENU.
The On-Screen menu will be displayed on the left.
Using the arrow buttons, mover the red frame pointer to the SETTING menu icon.
Press the up/down buttons, move to the LAMP COUNTER option.
Press OK to open up as the RESET LAMP COUNTER box.
Click on the SET option to open a confirmation window.
The message “Lamp replace counter reset?” is displayed.
Click on YES.
Press OK.
The lamp hours will be reset to zero.

Tips for longer projector lamp life:

Avoid frequent on and offs to avoid power surges.
Don’t let the projector overheat as this puts stress on the lamp. Make sure there is enough airflow around the projector particularly if it’s been permanently mounted.
Let the projector stand unused for at least one hour ever 24 hours. An average use of four to five hours per day will ensure longer lamp life.
Keep the air filters clean and free of dust so it can do its job and keep the projector lamp for overheating.
Using “Eco mode” or “Lamp Economy Mode” can reduce lamp brightness by 20% while extending the lamp life by 50%.

Track the umber of hours left in the by going to the Info menu found on the Main menu. The Epson ELPLP32 projector lamp will last up to 2000 hours if the Brightness setting is on normal. Change the setting to low and get up to 3000 hours.

Press on the tabs located on top of the Epson PowerLite 740c cover. Lift up the lamp cover.

Using the screw driver provided with the Epson PowerLite 740c projector, loosen the two screws holding the Epson ELPLP32 projector lamp in place.

Pressing on the indents on the sides of the Epson ELPLP32, pull the projector lamp gently up out of the Epson PowerLite 740c projector. Take care not to bang the actual lamp or it may break. Learn how to do a proper clean up if the lamp breaks or explodes.

NOTE: The Epson ELPLP32 projector lamp contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle your used lamps and be good to the environment.

Gently place the new Epson ELPLP32 lamp into the Epson PowerLite 740c making sure not to touch the actual bulb. The oil on6your fingers will leave a burn mark on the lamp once it heats up and this can cause black out spots on the screen.
Tighten the screws on the new Epson ELPLP32 lamp.
Slide the air filter out and remove it immediately. Slide in the new filter that came with the Epson ELPLP32 lamp. Replace the lamp cover.
You are now ready to reset the lamp timer.

Reset the lamp timer in the Epson PowerLite 740c

Your Epson PowerLite 740c has a built-in timer to track the life of the Epson ELPLP32 projector lamp. So, it’s very important that you reset the lamp timer every time you replace the Epson ELPLP32 projector lamp.

Here’s how:

Press the MENU button on either the remote control on the projector’s control panel.
Scroll down to the RESET option.
Press Enter. The RESET ALL screen will appear.
Scroll down to LAMP-HOURS RESET.
Press ENTER to open up the confirmation screen

Highlight YES.
Press ENTER.
Press ESC or MENU to exit this option.
