Should you buy an original lamp or a generic replacement lamp for your JVC D-ILA TV? The choice is clearly up to the consumer, but we like the original lamps for a few reasons:

Although we’ve supported this theory from JVC, in the last year and half, we have seen very little improvement in the quality of these lamps. Matsushita (Panasonic) has been really struggling with the R&D of UHP Technology and evidence is readily available…just talk to any Panasonic DLP owner from the last 4 years! There is a class action lawsuit against Panasonic right now! Conclusion? Purchase Philips UHP Lamps as a replacement…due to demand, Philips just release this lamp for all JVC TVs!!

Samsung DLP TV This is a quick reference guide to show you how to reset your Samsung DLP TV’s lamp hour meter or hour counter.

Step 1: Buy authentic

It’s important that you install an OEM lamp and avoid a generic, compatible lamp.

Knock-off, compatible generic lamps may seem like a bargain in the beginning. They actually cost more in the long run since they can damage the color wheel and ballast mechanisms in your RPTV. They also give off poor light, are prone to messy explosions and actually have a shorter life.

Step 2: Resetting the counter

Once you have installed your OEM replacement lamp, resetting the counter is a very simple procedure:
• Begin with the TV powered off.
• Point your remote towards your TV.
• Press:
• Menu + 1 + 8 + 2 + Power.
• Your TV set should now say “Loading Factory”.
• Browse down to “Option” then press Enter (or the right cursor button).

To exit the service menu, hit press the EXIT button or just turn off your TV (remember not to turn on your TV immediately afterward!).

NOTE: The Mute+1+8+2 buttons needs to be pressed down consecutively and fairly quickly. If your TV does not enter the service menu after using this combination, you can substitute MENU instead of MUTE. This seems to work for some sets. Also, the right cursor arrow also acts as the ENTER button, so try it if you’re having difficulty with the ENTER button.

What is D-ILA? Is it just a fancy way of saying I have a “DLP” TV? Why did JVC choose D-ILA?

LCOS is the technology, D-ILA is JVC’s version of it. RCA Lamp Replacement Guide

Do you have a RCA TV and need a replacement lamp, part number: 265866, 265919, 269343, or 270414? Click here for the best price online! Did that RCA DLP lamp go out on you? It’s a simple fix. Don’t throw that TV away or go with an expensive TV repairman. Often times it’s cheaper to first change the lamp than to call a service technician for $150+. Always buy an OEM part.

We also recommend replacing the entire enclosure if it looks damaged or warped as this may cause your lamp to be misaligned inside the television!

To replace just your lamp, all you need is:

  • An RCA DLP lamp made by Philips
  • A flat-head screwdriver
  • A T-10 & T-15 Torx driver
  • A pair of plyiers
  • A pair of gloves or a lint-free cloth (to wipe the glass down afterwards)

Cuidados y manejo de lamparas o focos de proyeccion para TV-DLP

No mirar directamente la lampara o foco cuando esta en funcionamiento , existe radiacion ultravioleta, utilizar lentes adecuados , en su caso.

Estos tipos de lamparas trabajan a muy altas temperaturas.

Considere que trabajando la lampara o foco para TV-DLP y una vez apagada , antes de manipularla habra de esperar por lo menos media hora

Dentro de la TV-DLP hay altos voltajes de operacion para la lampara o foco y que no deben ser medidos ni manipulados con la TV-DLP encendida.

Al reemplazar la lampara o foco, debera manipularla de preferencia con guantes de latex , una vez montada en el portalampara y fianalizando el proceso de instalacion limpiar con un trapo bien limpio impregando con alcohol desnaturalizado, con el fin de eliminar posibles residuos de grasa o manchas.

Algunas TV-DLP tienen filros donde circula el aire hacia la lampara o foco, se recomienda limpiarlos por lo menos cada 4 meses

Asegurece que al poner el portalampara con su lampara o foco nueva,en su posicion final dentro de la TV-DLP,poner la tapa posterior que cubre el portalampara y reponer los tornillos firmemente, ya que si ud. intenta encender la TV-DLP sin esta tapa posterior , su TV-DLP , no encendera, indicandole falla en lampara o foco.

Samsung ha confundido a muchos de sus clientes de TV-DLP…aquí están los antecedentes: Samsung usaba originalmente a Toshiba como su proveedor de lámparas UHP. Samsung pasó por varias tandas de producción y luego decidió cambiar a las Lámparas UHP de Philips. Porqué hicieron el cambio es pura especulación… ¿Mejor Calidad? ¿Mejor reputación? ¿Mejores precios? ¡Quién sabe! Sólo una cosa es clara: Philips es el innovador de lámparas UHP. También son líderes en Investigación y Desarrollo en esta tecnología en crecimiento. Samsung hizo sus deberes y fue con el líder en la industria (¡buen trabajo, Samsung!). Entonces, Samsung originalmente lanzó el BP96-00224A con una lámpara Toshiba. Este fue más tarde cambiado por el BP96-00224C con una lámpara Philips. Abajo hay una imagen que muestra solo las diferencias físicas entre los dos portalámparas.

No le preste mucha atención a la forma del portalamparas ya que hay pocas variaciones entre ellos. Más importantes son los conectores y sus formas y colores. Si usted reemplaza una lámpara Toshiba con una Philips, tendrá que cambiar también el balastro… en caso contrario, podría quemar el balastro, la lámpara, ¡o ambos! Entonces ¿qué lámpara es compatible con qué TV? Espere un momento…. ¡ aún hay mas , ES UN NUEVO diseño de lámpara en el mercado! La nueva lámpara está fabricada por Philips y es compatible como reemplazo de TODAS las lamparas de TV-DLP de Samsung que utilizan una lámpara Philips. Si usted tiene una “Gran” lámpara Philips (como la de la imagen de arriba), necesitará el adaptador para lámparas Philips para usar las nuevas “Pequeñas” lámparas Philips, haga clic aquí para obtener más información acerca del adaptador. Pero esta lámpara es mucho más pequeña que la de mi TV…¿Está seguro de que es compatible? Al tiempo que la tecnología de lámparas UHP evoluciona, estas lámparas se vuelven más pequeñas y luminosas. Las lámparas más pequeñas son 100W/120W y utilizan la misma energía que las lámparas viejas, aunque su diseño compacto y moderno es un beneficio adicional a la larga vida que Philips afirma.
Aún estoy confundido, ¿cuenta con una manera simple de distinguir qué tipo de lámpara tengo y cuáles son mis opciones de reemplazo?
La respuesta simple es SI, pero un SI con una excepción. Samsung cometió un grave error con la producción de sus DLPs. ¡No conozco a ningún otro fabricante que haya pasado por tantos cambios de lámparas!
Primer paso: Ubique el código de la lámpara en el lado derecho de su TV (el lado derecho como si estuviera mirando TV). Generalmente, hay una estiqueta ROJA y BLANCA parecida a esta:

La “(P)” en el código significa Philips. Si su código tiene una “(T)” eso significa que el fabricante es Toshiba… ¡lo que significa también que usted tiene una de las primeras TVs que Samsung fabricó! Esto es una mala noticia considerando que tendrá que cambiar el balastro si quiere usar una de las lámparas “grandes” de Philips o una de las nuevas lámparas “pequeñas” de Philips.
Para ser más CLARO, paso1: descubra quién fabricó su lámpara: Philips o Toshiba.
Paso 2: Si usted tiene una lámpara Philips (P), y el código de la lámpara comienza con BP96-00224, eso significa que usted debe tener una de las lámparas “Grandes” dentro de su TV, una de éstas:

Pero hemos visto casos¡donde esto no es verdad! La manera más segura y recomendada de hacerlo es quitar físicamente el recinto de la lámpara para inspeccionarla. Debería haber otra etiqueta dentro del recinto… ¡frecuentemente este código es diferente del código fuera de la TV (imagínese…)! Para evitar problemas, tómese 5 minutos y vea el tipo de lámpara.
