Installing a new lamp

Pre-installation preparation:

1. Turn off the projector power and wait for the cool-down period which is about two minutes. Disconnect the power cord after the two minutes is over.

2. Wait at least 30 minutes to one hour for the Epson EMP-5500 projector to cool internally before opening it up. It should be cool to the touch.

NOTE: Do not operate the projectors while the lamp is removed as this may result in malfunctions, fire hazard and other accidents.

 To install:

Use a screwdriver, coin, or similar object to loosen one retaining screw on the lamp cover. When the screw is loose, lift off the lamp cover. (You cannot remove this screw from the cover.)

Use a screwdriver, coin, or similar object to loosen two screws holding the lamp in position. (You cannot remove these screws.) Lift up the handle and pull out the Epson ELPLP06 projector lamp

NOTE: The Epson ELPLP06 lamp contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle your used lamps!

Gently insert the new lamp by lowering it into position. Make sure it is inserted securely.
Tighten the screws you loosened. Replace the lamp cover and tighten the cover screw.
(Make sure the lamp cover is securely fastened. The projector will not run if the lamp cover is open.)

The lamps timer be automatically be reset to zero.

Extend lamp life

Extend the life of the newly installed Epson ELPLP06 with the following tips:

  • Keep your air filters clean to avoid overheating the projector.
  • Turn off the Epson Epson EMP-5500 projector and let it stand for at least one hour ever 24 hours. An average use of four to five hours per day will ensure longer lamp life.
  • Make sure there is enough airflow around the projector particularly if it’s been permanently mounted.

Allow the  Sanyo PLC-XT15A projector to cool for one hour – it should be cool to the touch. Inside of the projector can be very hot since these machines operator under high temperatures.

2. The lamp cover is Underneath the Sanyo PLC-XT15A projector you’ll find the Lamp Cover. Gently turn the projector upside down protecting the top of the project and lsen the cover screw.

2. Remove the two screws on either side of each the Sanyo POA-LMP59  projector lamp. Grab the handle on the lamp cage and gently lift out the lamp. Place to one side. Don’t throw this lamp into the regular garbage as it contains mercury — send it to a local recycling program where it can be disposed of properly.

4. Caution: Don’t touch the screen or the actual bulb with your finger since the oil from your skin can cause a black spot on the bulb. The lamp should slide in easily – don’t force it. Once the lamp is in, tighten the two screws on the Lamp Assembly.

5. Replace the Lamp Hazard Cover and tighten the screw.

6. Re-connect the power cord and turn on the Sanyo PLC-XT15A projector in order to reset the Lamp Replace Counter.

NOTE: Your old Sanyo POA-LMP59 lamp should always be properly recycled. These lamps contain mercury and can’t be placed into common garbage.

Resetting the Lamp Replace Counter

The Lamp Replacement Counter always needs to be reset after installing a new projector lamp so it can track the age of your lamp and turn the Lamp Replace indicator on when the end of life for the Sanyo POA-LMP59 is approaching.

  • Press the MENU Button to display the MAIN MENU. Press the POINT LEFT/RIGHT button and scroll right to select SETTING.
  • Press the SELECT button to display the SETTING DISPLAY menu.

  • Move the red arrow to the LAMP AGE and then press the SELECT button.
  • The message “Lamp replace counter reset?” appears. Move the arrow down to YES and press the SELECT button.

Extend the life of your newly installed Sanyo POA-LMP59 by following these helpful tips:

  • Wait at least five minutes before turning the Sanyo PLC-XT16 off.
  • Don’t operate the projector continuously without letting it stand for at least one hour turned off every 24 hours.
  • Cleaning the air filter regularly will also prolong the life of the and prevent the Sanyo PLC-XT16 projector from overheating.
  • Use the ECO setting to reduce the brightness of the lamp and have a low consumption mode.

The Epson EX7220 air filter should be replaced regularly. Allowing dust particles to collect in the projector can cause it to overheat and cause the lamp to explode.

Cleaning the Air Filter and Vents

Clean the projector’s air filter or vents if they get dusty, or if you see a message telling you to clean them.

      1. Turn off the projector and unplug the power cord.
      2. Gently remove the dust using a small vacuum designed for computers or a very soft brush (such as a paintbrush).Note: You can remove the air filter so you can clean both sides of it. Do not rinse the air filter in water, or use any detergent or solvent to clean it.Caution:
        Do not use canned air. The gases may leave a flammable residue or push dust and debris into the projector’s optics or other sensitive areas.
      3. If dust is difficult to remove or the air filter is damaged, replace the air filter.

Replacing the Air Filter

    • You need to replace the air filter in the following situations:

      • After cleaning the air filter, you see a message telling you to clean or replace it
      • The air filter is torn or damaged

You can replace the air filter while the projector is mounted to the ceiling or placed on a table.

    1. Turn off the projector and unplug the power cord.
    2. Carefully open the air filter cover.
    3. Pull the air filter out of the projector.

      Note: Air filters contain ABS resin and polyurethane foam. Dispose of used air filters according to local regulations.
    4. Place the new air filter in the projector as shown and push gently until it clicks into place.
    5. Close the air filter cover.

After replacing the Canon LV-LP38 projector lamp, you’ll need to reset the lamp. To reset:

  • Open the On-Screen Display (OSD) menu.
  • Go to the SYSTEM SETUP: Advanced>Lamp Settings menu.
  • Press OK/IMAGE. The Lamp Settings page is displayed. Press to highlight/ Reset lamp timer and press OK/IMAGE.
  • A warning message is displayed asking if you want to reset the lamp timer. Highlight Reset and press OK/IMAGE . The lamp time will be reset to ‘0’.

Be sure to replace the lamp when you see the message “Change lamp”  It may also be time to replace the projector lamp if you notice the colors on screen have faded or become distorted.

It can be confusing finding the best Dukane ImagePro 7300 projector. Counterfeits, despite their bargain price, actually cost more in the long run. They should be avoided for the following reasons:

Replacing the projector lamp

The Dukane ImagePro 7300 projector uses the Dukane 456-7300.  Before installing a new projector lamp do the following safety steps:

  • Reduce the risk of electrical shock by disconnecting the power cord on the projector.
  • Reduce the risk of severe burns by allowing the projector to cool for at least 45 minutes. It should be cool to the touch.

flat-blade screwdriver, gently pry the lamp door from the projector by
placing the screwdriver blade into the space between the top of the lamp
door and the projector.

Loosen the two captive screws that attach the lamp housing to the
projector. Detach the lamp connector from the projector by depressing the locking
tab on the connector and lightly pulling it free. Be extremely careful when removing the lamp housing.  Carefully remove the lamp housing.

NOTE: The Dukane 456-7300 projector lamp contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle your used lamps!

Install the new Dukane 456-7300 lamp housing and tighten the screws. Re-attach the lamp connector to the projector. The locking tab should engage when the connector is fully plugged in.
Replace the lamp door. Plug in the power cord and toggle the Power switch to turn the projector
back on.

Resetting the lamp timer

It’s important to set the lamp timer so the Dukane ImagePro 7300 projector can accurately track the life span of the Dukane 456-7300.

To reset the lamp hour timer:
  • Navigate to the Settings
  • Service menu
  • Select Lamp Reset

 

After replacing the Dukane ImagePro 7330 be sure to clean the lamp filters.

If the dust filter becomes clogged it will cause  high temperatures and premature lamp failure.  To maximize lamp life you should clean the screen every 250 hours.
  • Remove the lamp housing.
  • Examine the dust filter screens on the lamp housing.
  • If necessary, use a vacuum cleaner set on low power to clean the screens. Be careful not to disturb any internal components when cleaning the screens. Replace the lamp housing and lamp door.
