Samsung… Good Quality

After reading many posts about the trouble people are having with their Samsung DLP televisions, I wanted to write something positive about the brand. I’ve had my 46″ Samsung since 2004…just checked the hours on the projection lamp (9099). I have to say that the set has given us excellent performance to date. The picture quality is far superior to other models I researched before purchasing my Samsung. My son-in-law has a Mitsubishi DLP 50″ and the picture quality of my Samsung is much, much better. After almost 5 years of service the color wheel is starting to fail. However, the projection lamp is still going strong. Like the tube TVs of old and automobiles of today, tubes fail and parts wear out. I’ll repair the color wheel and buy a new lamp when needed and I expect my Samsung will give us several more years of service.

Falsificación de lámpara UHP PHILIPS

Cuidado!!! Hay en el mercado Lámparas falsas (Clonadas) de reemplazo, que utilizan la marca PHILIPS. Hace unas semanas escribí un artículo en ingles sobre lámparas, copiadas e ilegales. El cual brevemente se hablo sobre las “copiadas”.

Una serie de lámparas clonadas han aparecido en el mercado recientemente. Estas lámparas son re trabajadas y reconstruidas a mano con partes baratas o chinas las cuales son de una pésima calidad y sin embargo tienen la marca de Philips impresa en el foco, asi confundiendo al consumidor. Atención! Estas lámparas NO SON de Philips, si va comprar una lámpara en alguna parte, verifique si son distribuidores autorizados!

Me trajeron a mi taller una TV-DLP que recién le había cambiado la lámpara y esta ya no prendía.

En la búsqueda del porque dejo de funcionar y con la aclaración del cliente que su lámpara “era nueva” tratamos de localizar el circuito culpable de esta anomalía.

Pasado un buen tiempo en revisar el equipo y estando todos los sistemas correctos e indicándome que la falla era la lámpara, saque la lámpara del portalámparas y efectivamente parecía “nueva” , incluso la marca y otros datos de verificación correspondían al fabricante Philips.

En una inspección mas cuidadosa note que el cristal (“cuadrado”) del frente de la lámpara no era igual que la original, así que tome una lámpara nueva original Philips, instalándola nuevamente en el televisor-DLP y sin mas encendió normalmente y sin problemas.

Porque Philips usaría un vidrio cuadrado en una lámpara redonda? Es muy obvio que NO.

Los falsificadores están reutilizando las lámparas dañadas de Philips, quitando el cristal redondo (este se rompe al quitarlo de su lugar) y sustituyendo por otro cuadrado y el “filamento” por uno genérico y sin garantía alguna.

Philips usa una tecnología que esta por patentarse, la cual involucra maquinas extremadamente caras, las cuales usan un laser para alinear el filamento. En cambio los filamentos de terceros no tienen el capital para adquirir esta maquinaria tan cara, la cual los obliga a hacerlo a mano, lo que ocasiona una caída extrema en calidad.

El cliente Pago nuevamente por el servicio más el costo de la lámpara y no pudo reclamar al que le vendió la lámpara.

Lamparas de Proyeccion

Algunos Proveedores de lamparas y/o bulbos para proyector , le pueden vender la lampara para el reemplazo de su lampara dañada o el portalamparas completo

Si Ud. Tiene un cierto grado tecnico o habilidad manual y es muy cuidadoso entonces reemplazar su lampara es una buena idea.

De lo contrario Lo mejor es comprar el portalamparas nuevo, ya que si se aventura a cambiar la lampara unicamente , puede entrar en un trabajo dificil y causar un daño al portalamparas o a la misma lampara.

Las diferencias de costos entre ambos es minima y el riesgo por daños es mayor.

Comentarios Utiles a saber sobre los bulbos o lamparas para proyector

Se fabrican 2 tipos de bulbos o lamparas:

Bulbos de Halógeno:

Estos tiene un periodo de vida de aproximadamente de 70 Hs.

Durante su periodo de vida-Actividad producen un brillo constante y una imagen amarrillenta.

Su costo es relativamente bajo , desde 40 a 80 Dll’s

Lámparas de haluro de metal UHB (Ultra Alto Brillo):

Su periodo de vida en promedio es de 2000 Hs.

Estas producen una imagen mas blanca y su brillo disminuye lentamente durante su vida-Actividad

Su costo es mayor, desde los 200 a 400 Dll’s

La aplicacion de estas lamparas para proyector las decide el fabricante.

¿Y que hay sobre UHP (Ultra Alto Rendimiento)?

Esta es una tecnologia propia y desarrollada por Philips, que requiere de un menor Voltaje de operacion para las mismas prestaciones de brillo y son de menor tamaño , haciendolas mas confiables al trabajar a menor voltaje… menor temperatura y mayor tiempo de vida , aproximadamente 4000 Hs.

This 60” TV is from Hitachi’s Ultra Vision CineForm series and is very much the contender as an ideal centerpiece in you home theatre system. This set has the display of 720p, that gives 1280 X 720 resolutions and it is considerably low when compared with other brand models, which are upgraded to 1080p.
