I was able to pick up a Sony KDS-R60XBR1 and it had a green tint to it at first so i replaced the bulb which helped a bit but slowly got worse. After getting really green i replaced the bulb again which still showed the green tint for a couple of minutes and then the tv went completely red. Now the entire picture is in complete red tint on every input. Adjusting the menu settings does nothing. Can anyone tell me exactly whats wrong? I would like to repair the tv. The previous owner removed the serial number so calling Sony will be of no help to me. Any help on this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I have a Samsung HLM5065WX. I purchase a lamp that was Philips and after reading this forum notice that was the wrong lamp for my housing. I also purchase a new ballast and the new ballast does not fit the connector. The new connector fits a Philips. My question is there any place that I can purchase a new connector being that the housing is the same.

Ugh, I did the same thing, unfortunately I found this site after I had mine working for about 2-3 months. Same seller. Electrified Discounters. Should have known. Bulb almost wouldn't come out. Wasted $ and now I gotta buy a replacement. They say it has 150 day replacement. I won't reinstall this bulb.

Disconnect cables and power cord. Set TV flat on carpet with screen faced down. Unscrew a number of screws that hold the black back case to the screen and circuitry. Slowly pull off the black cover making sure you have taken out all the screws. You will see the fan about center and top of the circuitry. You will see the wires from the fan that goes underneath a metal shroud. The shroud needs to be removed--unscrew about 6 screws. Pull the fan wire from its socket underneath the shroud. Unscrew the screws holding the fan to the circuitry board. Replace the new fan by screwing it to the circuitry board, and plugging it into the socket. Replace/screw back the shroud. Replace the back cover to the circuitry board and replace the screws. That's it, very simple.

We have had the same problems that you all have had. Right now I am looking at a blank screen...needing a new bulb after the last one lasted less than 6 months, the one before that 5 months, and we are beginning to have little white dots as well. When we bought this TV we ended up needing to bring 3 TVs back for an exchange to Best Buy (another problem source) and on the fourth TV, when it wasn't working, they said they would order parts for it. Three months later, after not getting the parts because they were backordered, I told Best Buy that I was going to take the TV and sit outside their store and tell everyone my TV experience with them, and I had a new TV within a half an hour. Still, the "new TV" is this hunk of junk sitting in front of me, so I don't know how much good it did me. I'd be all for a class action suit. Count me in.
