HunterZ, there is a good article on the FixYourDLP.com blog about the lamp only replacement for the TY-LA1000. You got to be careful cuz some sites sell the lamp only without the connector and that means you have to cut and jimmy rig the thing together...sounds like a fire and lawsuit waiting to hap...

I'm teasing you. You can get a lamp for the all the manufacturer's on their websites..it might cost you an arm and a leg though.

Doesn't using generic parts void your warranty too? I thought I saw that somewhere.

Ovadggvo, Yes, I got the 50"...how'd you know??? You get a lot of my model for repair or all crappy Vizio's have the same problem? Picture looks great, but I can't justify buying another Vizio if it's going to crap out right after the warranty is toast. My Sony tube is still working after 15-16...

I guess I'm just venting, but it seems like PLASMA TVs fail a lot more often than LCD TVs...and I can't even find parts for my Vizio PLASMA!

I've got a VIZIO P50HDM and the tech says this board is the problem. He also says there is a 6 week lead time from the manufacture. Anyone know where I can get a replacement part? Can the part itself be repaired? Why the heck is it on backorder for so long?!?!?!
