Re: Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached.

Hey Uncle Mart,

I've got our webmaster looking into this and trying to figure out how to clean things out and get them back on track.

More on this later.

chucklap,

Do you know if the bulb in there now is an original or a compatible ? An original lasts longer than a compatible so that would be crucial information to know.

Hello,

Actually I believe the DMD board will be the problem. I wish I had different information to provide but from what you describe that does sound to be the issue.

Re: WD-62627 Lamp Issues

Sorry to hear you weren't able to save your TV, and thanks for updating us. I was hoping you wouldn't give up on your projection TV. One thing I believe is that people weren't made aware of the maintenance these sets require. The lamp was pretty much the only thing the manufacturers mentioned as far...

Re: WD-62627 Lamp Issues

Hello, More likely your problem is going to be the ballast. This is the second most common part to fail in these TV's. A weak ballast won't be able to power a new bulb. A new bulb requires more power from the ballast due to having all the mercury gas that they come with. A weak ballast will usually ...

Re: Request advice on Samsung HLN567W issue

Sorry for the late reply. If you feel a vibration when you hear the whining it's morel likely going to be the color wheel needing replacement. If no vibration more likely the ballast would be the issue.

Hello, The problem is more likely the light engine. These are getting harder to find but you should still able to find one either on Discount Merchant.com or Ebay. They're more likely used and go for about $200. It's recommended for a technician to do this kind of installation although installation ...

If your lamp was recently changed make sure the lamp timer was reset. If not that might fix the problem. Let us know if that helps.

Yes please check in case you do hear these sounds as these usually point to problems with either colorwheel or ballast.

Re: Samsung DLP HL72A650C1FXZA lights up but no picture/soun

ActionMan1, Can you confirm that the lamp does come on ? Also can you check to see if when the TV powers on if you hear any buzzing or humming type sounds as these sometimes point to issues with the colorwheel or ballast. Please advise I will be checking for your responce to reply to you right away....

Many are counterfeits and behave the same way you are describing. These lamps have to be calibrated exactly to work with your model and oft...

Hey Xramfn,

I don't think you need to replace the whole colour wheel to replace the lens BUT it would depend on what projector you have.

Re: Shattered LP bulb Samsung HLR6168W

Hello! That sounds like a rotten way to start the week. You should bring your Samsung into a service technician to vacuum the interior. It's released mercury and needs to be cleaned. Be sure to wear gloves while handling the broken pieces, wash you hands afterwards and don't put the shards into gene...

Re: Ceiling Mounted Projectors

Hi Louisa, I'm assuming your basement has a flat mail ceiling about 8 feet high, which is the easiest type of ceiling to work with. Step 1: Make sure you buy the correct ceiling mount. There aren't any generic ceiling mounts. You'll need to buy an Optoma ceiling mount. Step 2: You will need to calcu...

Re: Projection Screen

Have you noticed any distortion when projecting onto the wall? The most portable type f are the free...

Re: Why are Philips lamps better than "Generics"?

Hey Grayfox, OEM lamps for both your RPTV and projector are better to use for a number of important reasons. 1. Generic lamps are tempting because they are sold cheaper but they actually end up costing you more, particularly since they have about half the life span of OEM 2. Copy cat manufacturers d...

Re: BIG Problems with WD-52725

Those TVs usually have a sequence of lights. We have a guide on the main site to read how the lights work. For example, status blinking red means it could be the fan. If the lamp LED is blinking, could be a combination of either lamp, ballast, or power supply. Even a color wheel. Just gotta give mor...

Re: Samsung DLP Problems

That sure is a strange problem. The color wheel theory may be valid, but he’d have to have some funky picture or screeching noise, or any kind of winding noise if the color wheel was bad. I’ve not heard that the plastic expands because the TV gets really hot, but anything is possible I suppose. The ...
