I am no expert, but some calming help, perhaps. Can you see the place where the lamp plugs in? Are the wires dark or look 'rusty'? On my SXRD Sony, the red power lamp blinking 3x.....pause 3x indicated the lamp wasn't getting power or was improperly connected. I removed my lamp and carefully replace...

Blinking red 3x is power to lamp.
To fix my SXRD, I just unplugged the lamp....removed totally from the set and than replaced, making sure the plug was firmly seated.
Problem solved though I DO intend to have a spare lamp and housing on hand for when the lamp goes south altogether.
