Well, My parts came in the other day. The main shaft is a larger diameter than the one that broke, so I had to open up the hole in one of the bronze (?) bushings and the drive gear to get it installed. I know that this could be considered thread necromancy since this thread is several years old, but I have a Philips 47" TV that was doing the same thing. Philips put out a firmware update that took care of the problem.
