Intermittent Audio Mute

Mitsubishi 73733. While I'm watching the TV it will suddenly mute the audio for about a second. It seems to happen randomly. I think it may have something to do with HDMI but not sure. Picture is not effected while this happens. Anyone have any ideas on what I should be looking at to fix this?

Re: WD 62628 picture shape adjustment?

Higher end video card software should have overscan adjustments. All new Mac computers have this built in by going to System Preferences > Displays > Underscan. Also you could try to press the MENU button on your remote, followed quickly by the numbers 2457. Then press the "P...

Re: To Ballast or not to ballast?

Is that the only down side to using the old ballast? Just a longer power up time? I'm asking because I installed a new one, and it - seems - to make the picture "pop" more. Everything just seems to look better, but that could be my imagination playing tricks on me too. What happened is that I...

Re: WD 62628 picture shape adjustment?

I have this same general issue with my 73733. I'll post how I fixed it once I figure it out. There are controls for this, you just have to know how to access them.

Re: Mitsubishi 73638 Flickering Brightness

Bulb longevity does not matter if it is a generic bulb. I've seen them burn out 45 minutes after they've been replaced. The ballasts could also be going bad. See if you can download a service manual. That would help troubleshoot the issue for you.

Re: osram bulb

I know this is a old thread but for other people reading it here is a reply. Brightness settings will definitely effect bulb longevity. As a general rule, Philips brand is the longest lasting and brightest replacement bulbs. Also, once you turn your TV off, do NOT switch it back on for at least 3or ...

To Ballast or not to ballast?

I have a Mits 73733. I recently replaced the bulb but this isn't the first bulb that has been replaced with this DLP TV over the years.

It has the original ballast and I was wondering if replacing it would help improve the picture quality in any way?
