A new wrinkle has occurred. . . the "old" bulb finally died, so I am now utilizing the new bulb. The odd thing is that I've found the tv will only turn on if I physicially go in and remove and replace the bulb. It works fine after that, but if I attempt to turn the tv on without first remo...

One other thing to note - when it was originally shutting off (when I could wait a minute and turn it back on), from time to time it did throw a "lamp cover open" error message (power light blinking orange twice). But again, nothing with picture or any other noises.
