I recently opened the back of my samsung dlp to see if it was dusty inside. I think I made a mistake by dusting it with compressed air. I am having the same problem. A Samsung tech I spoke to said its the DLP/DMD chip. Found one on eBay for $52.

Could a power outage cause white dots to appear?
Shortly after a power outage white dots have started to apear on my screen...is this a coincidence or did the power outage cause this? Thanks! I have a 61" Samsung DLP.

Hello, I have had my 61inch DLP for almost 5 years with no problems...until now. I am getting more and more tiny white dots on the sceen (they seem to be in a fixed position).
