A lamp provides the "Back light" for the projection, so the only distortion it can cause it the actual brightness. Parts most commonly associated with distortion on the screen can be a DMD, digital video board, or if you have some color disfigures, a colorewheel.

Most commonly Samsung television with 3 blinking lights in the front can mean something other than a lamp, fairly easy to diagnose, are there any sounds coming from the television? if not, did you get any discoloration/distortion on the screen before it stopped working?

Wow you tested the ignition charge! yes many times I have to re-calibrate my multimeter after a charge like that. But like you saw it is only for the ignition charge, once lamp is lit the voltage needed to keep it on is lower. Let me know if the lamp worked out!

Hello mazzuco, I believe they meant the DMD is messed up, in which case it is easier and cheaper to just change the DMD board itself. its just a couple of plugs and screws nothing to cut or solder. Unfortunately this Samsung HLS-5679 does not rely on a lamp as a light source for projection but rather on LED's. It is very costly to replace the lighting unit so I would have this professionally diagnosed just to make sure.
