Oh ok, is there's a chipset you need to reflow without having to re-solder it, you can do so by turning it upsidedown, covering it with tin foil and going at it with a heat gun.. let me know if you want me to post a vid..

Ouch sorry to hear that. I try to be as careful as possible when taking TVs apart because if so much as a screw mount brakes off a bigger piece of the assembly, a colorwheel can rattle its way loose..

This sounds like it worked halfway... And yes techs in the west coast are more patient, and I am not saying that just because I work out of CA but because i deal with clients Statewide!



I can maybe attribute this to the dmd chip if the board is working properly.. did you try both DMD chips?

If this is not the first time you are replacing the lamp then yes it might very well be a bad ballast. You also want to make sure you do not have a generic or bootleg bulb. This has caused me many headaches!
