Re: New here and need help with HLR5667
To be honest everything in the light engine has to do with the alignment of the picture projected on the screen. It might be the adjustment ring around the projector lens, or it could be a mirror inside, or something else. I suggest you either send it to a technician you trust so he can have a look ...

Wow it looks like its either the digital video board or the DMD, how ever try to bring up the TV menu, if the menu is also affected, then it’s the DMD board, if not then check your digital video board for any swollen capacitors.

That sounds more like the color wheel; you see after some considerable use the color wheel starts get stuck or the baring in the middle starts to move. That’s what produces the humming sound. Now when the DMD board (the brain of the TV) detects an anomaly (not reaching its 7200 rpm) it will shut off...

Coincidence? My advice is that you start saving for the digital board, because sooner or later the picture distortion will probably return. If it dose, now you know why. Good thing tough that its now working like a charm.

Re: NEW Bulb- still not working
The lamp timer is a small program that keeps track of the hours that the lamp is in use. Some time the tv wont turn on after replacing the lamp because the DMD detects that the lamp hours exceeds the limit. So for security measures it doesn’t allow the tv to turn on. Here are the instructions of how...

Just make sure you find out what type of color wheel you have, it’s either the silver or the gold one. Otherwise it won’t fit or work properly.

The first step you can take (and the cheapest one) is to clean the inside of the TV with a can of compressed air & a vacuum cleaner. If that doesn’t work then you should try to replace the ballast, since when it makes a clicking sound that means that it doesn’t have the voltage to light up the l...

My first recommendation is to open up the Tv and completely cleaning the inside especially the fans and color wheel. If that doesn’t work then the color wheel is my next suspect, the previous owner probably installed a second hand wheel, one that still works but is on its last days of use.

Ok, let me explain from the top, the video board is divided in two. Analog & digital, if the menu shows up perfectly then it’s the digital board that’s sending erroneous signals to the DMD board, thus producing the green picture. You’ll have to replace it. Here is a video so you can have an idea...

It sounds as if your color wheel has a air bearing issue, its very common problem, it causes the color wheel to not spit at the 7600 rpm that the DMD board requires to operate the TV perfectly.

Hmmmm, looks like the only other option left is the color wheel, since some of the symptoms at the start point to the color wheel. You see the color wheel has to spin at approximately 7600 rmp, if the DMD board detects an abnormal spin rate it will shut off the DMD.

My recommendation is first clean the fans on the inside of the lamp (you got to take the back of the tv off), normally the dust and mold that accumulates and tends to over heat the lamp. If that doesn’t work then go for the ballast, I would leave the power supply at the third place because you are s...

You’ll have to buy a new one, there is no way around it, if you try to tape it or fix it with super glue it wont work, since the color wheel spins very fast (5,600 rmp aprox).
Search for it by part number, usually it start with a BP.
