Hello, well judging by the fact that you have no distortion or weird noises, I would replace the lamp first, however do not dismiss the possibility of the ballast. :?: It could have grown weak over time, or maybe some static shorting some components out during the move... the facts vs questio...

yeah depending on what part of the supply is damaged it can cut off for certain parts, and yes you would be looking for no voltage, but be careful!

I don't think you need to worry about the model number, my doubt are with the pictures, I would contact the seller and make sure this is not a DMD board (because of the metal casing...)

what a shame :(
If you are familiar with using a multimeter you can test to see if the ballast is receiving voltage (ruling out the power supply). But as for the ballast output I would not recomend testing since it feeds the lamp 15,000 volts for ignition! It can damage your tester!

Hello!
Judging by the fact that a digital signal is affected, like the xbox and the menu, I would rule out the DMD and land on the Digital Video Board or Input board, Next I would try Analog VS Digital video inputs to see which of the 2 I would replace first (i.e. HDMI versus a Coaxial input)

Hello, this is actually a very common problem especially with Mitsubishi and especially after changing a lamp  ! 90% of the times this happens it is because of a weak ballast, it generates 15,000 volts to ignite the lamp, which is why it works on if you turn it and leave it on, (ignition occur...

Some light engines come with a colorwheel, but no they are 2 separate parts, one is the complete engine with the projector and DMD board, the other is the colorwheel by itself or the metal enclosure. hhmmm that is a lot of research :o I think you can try the Digital Video Board first, it is relatively cheap and easy to install, you just have to make sure you order it by model of TV AND the board number off the part, since these all look the same and some are for different screen sizes :|

Yes sir the reason we try this out is because everything runs through an analog input board, and if all else fails this can possibly be your DMD board.

Re: HELP! SAMSUNG DLP MODEL HL-T6187S--- NO PICTURE
OK so judging by your symptoms this is most likely a ballast issue since the problem lies in the ignition (for which this takes 15kv, and the ballast that powers this is also a consumable part) but I would still begin with a basic physical lamp inspection and look for any signs of burning or fogging..

this can be caused by the video signal output by the DMD board or a video board, hard to diagnose, but you can try to find out which of the the digital video board /analog input board is bad if you test digital versus analog inputs (i.e. HDMI versus coaxial) and if the analog coaxial shows disruptio...
