well don't be so quick on discarding the ballast because if the lamp timer hasn't been reset " on some tv's" the timer lets the ballast know what voltage to send to the lamp. Also the ballast IS a consumable part and unfortunatelly Samsung, has a terrible rep on their ballast (check class ...

It seems that you may have damaged the port itself. You can just open the panel on the tv and check that port internally see if it has been detached from the tv from frame. It can be a number of things. First the lamp it's fine and it is lighting up. More than likely the ballast is not sending the right voltage to your lamp. If the lamp light is on at anytime you may also need to reset the lamp timer. That might help.

It can be that the colorwheel simply gave up. You can open the back panel of your tv and check for physical damage on it, however for the colorwheel you don't always have the Noise indicating failure. It can just loss calibration and well... The part is a consumable part.
Good luck.

Possible power supply issue, there are the main supply board and the auxiliary board. They manage and filter the voltage given to your internal parts in the tv lamp, ballast, power supply boards. This type of issue is better managed by a local repair person.
