BMWs are beautiful, I fly on a Buell 1125R. Theres something keeping me tied to a Harley engine with a belt drive. Or maybe I just do not like Japanese bikes?
Well let me know if anything from the TV develops and I can be of any service.
Hello, I think I saw this post by you and answered the following: "Because of that high pitched whirling sound I am willing to bet it is time to replace the colorwheel. What is happening is that once a fault in the colorwheel is detected by the dmd, it is cutting the power supply to the ballast and ...
Hello, Because of that high pitched whirling sound I am willing to bet it is time to replace the colorwheel. What is happening is that once a fault in the colorwheel is detected by the dmd, it is cutting the power supply to the ballast and hence not powering up the lamp. Unfortunately one has to kno...
Hi there, I dont think my last post was displayed, weird. I think we can attribute this to the digital video board, the main input board or the colorwheel. To begin trouble shooting you can check for sounds like winding screeching low or loud sounds coming from a spinning colorwheel, that might indi...
Yes pretty much the diamond series parts can be used on the regular with its corresponding part number unless it has a "smart TV feature" like wifi, which was not many.
Do you have part numbers and I can be of more specific help!
Hello, Typically any color distortion would be the cause of the colowheel, since it is a consumable part (sold all over online) it depends on how old and how much use the TV has seen. Also depending from the last time the lamp was changed and if it is an OEM original Philips bulb. if the one install...
Hello, This area is for Forum Feedback, I will relocate your post. To help in the mean time the high pitched sounds you describe are they like screeching? like glass or metal, or more of an electric buzzing sound? If it sounds mechanical it is most definitely the colorwheel. I would also check the a...
Hello, If you get a second hand DLP TV the rule of thumb is to replace the lamp with an original Philips right away, even if its in good working order, just because you njever know when it might blow mid game/etc! Now to the shaking and OSD menu, non responsive unit.... that is mostly attributed to ...
So in other words the TV seems DEAD. no lights not when plugged in, when power is pressed or anything? any noises like electrical ballast or fans, colorwheel spinning? Are you sure you installed the new power supply correctly? if the power supply is good, any malfunction with the lamp or ballast has...
wow this is a though one, no wonder there are no replies. I want to begin with asking if you got an OEM lamp or a Philips. I read a little about this projector and you are right the error "code" is not consistent to what it is doing.. I think the colorwheel , eventhought manual test seems to spin fr...
Hi! Im gonna jump in and ask I you could get a part number off the Power Supply board, then maybe we can look at some online, the install is fairly easy.. Have you tried using that keyboard and pc equipment compressed air to blow out the dust in your tv??? this might respond for the "shaking" workin...
Hey, Ok so by what you describe I am almost certain this is ballast issue. This is completely normal, chances are if you Google it you can find a guide to replace it. This is a consumable part so even if it was not defective once the lamp has been replaced on a Mitsubishi DLP 2-3 times the ballast n...
Hello, how long ago did you replace it? and if so was this with a genuine Philips bulb? (This is the brand of lamp Samsung uses). If this is still happening after putting an OEM lamp in, this is most likely the ballast.. Are there any odd sounds coming from the tv ? mostly during ignition or while i...
Hi! Oh for sure, I have a similar Sammy, dedicated to gaming because of the awesome pictures, I did also catch the playoffs on it and currently march madness (eventhough my alma-SDSU Aztecs got it handed to them by DUKE, no surprizes there hehe). When it comes to fidgeting with the service menu, I h...
Hello, I can relate yes the Toshiba remote is a jigsaw puzzle! that one required extensive manual reading to decipher unfortunately.. and some trial and error. That out of the way, the default presets must have not solved your problem which is odd (dynamic, movie, game, etc). Luckily you can bring u...
Hello, for this LCD screen it would be smart to begin with the Power Supply as you suggest, if you are handy with a multimeter a grid should be available somewhere online, unfortunately when I search I come only across your posts! do you know if there is an alternative model number to your tv? It mi...
Hello, Of course it will work (make sure you get that power converter!). What you may need to use for the local channels will be a local decryption device (kind of like a cable box) to channel surf, I am not sure if Italy has Free-to-air (FTA)... The one thing if bringing along the DVD/BluRays and P...
Hi, Wow 2 lamps in 9 yrs that is really good! After the first one goes out the average lifespan is 12-24 months on a good quality aftermarket lamp, hopefully Philips brand bulb.. I am thinking having only changed the lamp once, your ballast is most likely good.. but even 9 yrs it can take a toll and...
Hey there I apologize I did not have an answer for you on my behalf. We try to help out and log in as much as we can, unfortunately that colorwheel part went away AWOL.
I am just a long time member but it seems some techs join just to get a solution and never share their knowledge, I should know I have more replies than anyone else.
Hello, After yrs of opening up and reassembling many many LED optical block RPTVs, with the 3 light tunnels, mirrors and RGB filters. I came to understand that most of the realigment was in the assembly itself. To the point I would mark the parts being unscrewed to realign them easier later! I woud ...
I agree ^ It might be a ballast, but the fact that you have had to replace the colorwheel before tells me there might be something wrong, something as little as ventilation... the ballast can make an arching buzzing electronic sound, but a whinny whirled or grindy sound is almost always a bad colorw...
Its not a DV board issue, maybe the colorwheel might be heating up, and start malfunctioning.. have you tried placing a fan in the back of the tv to keep it "cool" and check to see if its a part thats over heating..
So I heard from A to begin looking for an entire light engine, broaden our search. Seems logical since most come with the colorwheel. I am on the case, I'll be in touch!
Hello, Wow melting? with this particular model (and others similar from Samsung) you have to make sure you install the lamp securely! The fix you describe seems appropriate to change everything using OEM components. The issue you are describing however, in my opinion cannot be caused by the lighting...
Hello! I just upgraded my laptop to one and it was a nightmare since i purchased it on eBay.com without the installation CD!!! Let me explain that Sony's licensing on Blu-ray is insane, and it means it's almost impossible to play Blu-rays on your computer with something just plug and play! Luckily W...
Hey there, Oh sure that little piece should at least rule out everything incoming from colorwheel.. I couldn't find the Samsung OEM stats online, but you can run an update if available using a USB from http://www.samsung.com/us/support/ This might reset your board.. Sure send me a PM if you are arou...
Oh that is a shame, such a great big screen! Well if you look on eBay.com with the model number HL61A750 you can see everything to part it out. My advice to get rid of it quick, is to list it on Craigslist.com and mention it needs repair and you don't know what. I say this because when I see listing...
Hey there, well thats a forum hunt.. what is the model of that TV? I have old colorwheels lying around that you an toy with, I can send it with the pick up board once I find one :) Yeah Angel is back from Mexico, but just made a pitstop in SD he is in SF setting up some antennas or network over at t...
Hello, A friend is sendig me some CW cores he has (mostly damaged glass panels so the housings should be good), I will look for a pick up board that matches what you have hopefully there's a compatible i was told by a senior tech that the Mitsubishi Diamond series 70+ screens some use this colorwhee...
hi, well you seem very comfortable around electronics, if you took your multimeter and say there's no voltage FROM the MAIN power supply, then yes I'd agree the aux power supply will not distribute any power to anything. Did the old green LED seem "burned in" or have any dark spots? Or maybe it fail...
Hi, no not finding any around, yes its very rare they go out but I have always changed them for a samsung "look alike" and it has never failed me.. I was looking for one with no luck, Even my colleagues warehouses and nothing, I will keep looking though.. I was talking to Angel and he asked me to lo...
Hmm.. normally the blue LED Chip goes out first after 5-6 yrs because it is the first to receive light from the Philips UHP lamp and hence gets more wear and tear... is your TV properly ventilated and in a not so humid environment?
Hi! no yes to my understanding the pick up board just reads the "pulse" a certain RPM. like all meters we need to find out what that certain RPM is, the color panes should have no effect. I got the images form Angel, we fixed one of these in February and parts were not as scarce!
Hello, I have to begin with what causes me the most trouble when this happens to my clients, did you purchase an original lamp? Generic lamps have a huge defect rate! If the lamp is genuine and this is clicking or making an arching sound it is most probably the ballast. At which point you would have...
