Eze311, Recheck the ballast voltage. You shouldn't here a click noise if there is 0.0V going to the ballast. How are you testing the ballast? I would recommend entering the service menu and doing a factory reset. To get to the service menu:
Power OFF your TV
On the remote control press: Mute, 1, 8, 2, POWER
The TV should turn on into the service menu.
Do a factory reset and it may resolve the issue.

Pat, I beleive D-M has a lamp testing fee of $20.. I would excersize that option to see if the lamp is indeed bad. Do the lines apear on on the menu screen? or are they under the menu screen?
Do you have the same problem with PIP?
Does your VGA input work ok?
What about component?

stuart, You may have damaged the temp sensor when you opened up your TV. It's a slight possibility that the Temp Sensor is bad. I think D-M sells them for around $20. It's worth a try. Next guess would be DMD board just because in your first post you said that the TV would not turn off unless unplug...
