Samsung probably discontinued that power supply board because it had a lot of QC issues, in the shop I’ve had to replace several BP44-01002A because of the same problem so hopefully if you install the new BP44-01002C model it will last you a lot more that your current board.

That fan inside of another fan sound strange, anyway it’s probably nothing, since all the fans have a sensor that relay a signal to the DMD board. If at least one where to not function properly or fail completely the DMD would shut the TV off. So I think you ok.

I would definitely agree with darkart77. That sound like a color wheel problem, you can open up the tv just to make sure. If you find it shattered or broken, then bingo, there is the cause of your problem.
