Once the green ghost appears display the TV menu. If the menu is displayed without being affected by the ghost then the problem could be in your analog board (since the HDMI input works fine). Actually there is a way to know if the DMD board is malfunctioning when you have picture issues, but in your case the TV turns Off immediately. So the problem is going to be with one of the components of the board, and it's a complex task.

Hi lazorbeam. If you can see the bulb is on, but you have no picture at all, then most probably the problem is with the DMD board, it should redirect the light to the screen if everything is ok. Another possibility is that DMD board could be detecting a problem somewhere, maybe the color wheel start...

I think the problem could be in the video board which is the controller of the TV functions (menu, volume adjust, etc.)

Seems like a DMD board issue to me. If it was the ballast that wouldn't explain why the pictures freezes and the delay when turning the TV off.

Have you tried the HDMI input? If the problem persists when using this input then the digital video board is going to be the responsible part.

If using the HDMI / DVI input the problem still there, then the digital board is malfunctioning, else the problem is in the analog.

According to samsungparts.com the part number for your model is BP94-01859F. However they are offering the BP94-01859F as a replacement since the original is discontinued by manufacturer.
