You are going to need the owners manual for this one, since you are going to have to go into the settings menu and "activate" the tuner input, this is veryyy common in Philips LCD TVs too.

I would double check the conection, was this recently replaced? if it has 3 wires to power it can be that it is not installed correctly. Also if your TV has low ventilation or your thermostat inside the tv is malfunctioning this will cause the Fan to remain on.

This sounds like a sure colorwheel malfunction, since the brighter light made the discoloration more noticeable. I would take a look into the colorwheel, it sometimes makes a whirling sound, grinding or shattered glass noises.
