Hello, You are on the right path in my opinion, when I get this after a lamp exchange its usually something inside (the projector light engine) is miss aligned. Was the TV moved around a lot when you first replaced the lamp??? (that i the main cause) If so the only way to fix would be to take it apa...

Hi, So after all this trouble shooting basically you end up with a RED screen??? If you are getting an image then the light is working (that only emits white light), I think maybe the coorwheel is not spinning or something was not plugged in correctly.. normally when i rebuild a big screen TV like t...

Hello! Hmm so when you plug the TV in is there a standby light coming up? When you say it "clicks on and off" are you getting anything on the screen?? Yeah he texted me something likewise, and do not worry if the original CW pops up on eBay or Amazon etc... Angel will find it!
Um well to properly diagnose the TV would have to come on, but since it cycles then I think it might just be the LED that went out..
Let us know once you get this!

HI, Yeah, that burning out of the ribbon will happen with time&heat, its common. I take colorwheels apart all the time by just fidgeting with them, but I am afraid once you remove the aluminum wheel from the magnetic "air" bearing, its done for... the balancing on those is too precise, I do not ...

Well Mitsubishi ran the last production line with huge 3D / 72"+ screens about 2 yrs ago and they have been going strong since about the early 2000's so yes its safe to say so.. Luckily compatibility on Mitsubishi DLPs is good, but I would cross reference with the original from your TV before purcha...

You can always order one from an OEM seller like discount-merchant.com and if it does not work (make sure its a Philips, it should be around that price). Hint, if this doesn't solve your problem once received and installed call them up (800-281-8860) and ask for an RA# to return this for a refund ;)

Re: Hitachi 70VS810 going out
Well from recent experience I want to say make SURE the lamp connector is plugged in all the way. The lamp ignites at a 3-20kV jolt and if there is a gap in the pin connectors, this can arc at that point and do some damage! At this point I would try a new ballast, but first: how long have you had yo...

Can you get the screen up for any amount of time? Reason I ask is that after doing a little research on this model, the DV board seems to be a popular culprit and the best way of testing it would be by hooking up analog vs digital signals (like HDMI vs Coax)

Hi, I normally look around Google shopping and order the cheapest, theres not that many counterfeit colorwheels or ballasts, unless they are used/refurbished, I trust them.. it is quite common for a bad colorwheel to prevent the ballast for firing up the lamp, or for a bad ballast to ignite a new la...

Hello there, you are correct, that trouble shooting with the fan is a good way to test for other stuff misbehaving too. Yes ok so the clicking has to be at the ballast end, so if you replaced the ballast, logically this would only leave the lamp, where did you purchase the lamp from?

Hello! This is actually very common, in my opinion, you keep resetting the ballast and the new lamp is powered on but the ballast is no longer strong enough to keep generating up to 15-20kV to fire it up. This is VERY common especially with Mitsubishi TVs which is why if you search the web you will ...

is the "fog" pixelated? like little dots? this can be the DLP chip if so.. (aka DMD chip)
If its just foggy white it can be the orientation or focus of the lamp or light engine.. did you install an OEM replacemetn lamp?

Hello! It seems like I always begin asking the same question, did you replace this with an OEM Lamp? Yes of course sorry i skipped over that, sounds like you feel more than comfortable soldering, if you can get that cap, I would try it first.
This still will not explain the white dots though.. but it might need to be done anyways, might as well get it out of the way.
