My book says the 3 blinking lights is a lamp. but it's hard to tell what it could be.

It's the same part number you can try the board if they still have it or you can send it off for a solder reflow.

yeah those also use the dnie chip. the vga port doesn't. I am thinking you need to send in the digital board for a solder reflow.

I am not sure were it's at in your settings. I know mine has an option that says lamp under one of teh menus and it says phillips beside it and i can change it to the kind you have and some other kind.

it's not alined now. you have to loosen it back up and use a mirror to try and aline it if you see a black bar. if you do not see a black bar then with the tv off press mute 1 8 2 power. and you can ajust the screen . you can move it up and down or side to side.

with the tv off press mute 1 8 2 power and ajust the setting for screen height. there is also another area were you can do test screens and one of them has lines and boxes that will help you aline the screen.

it is most likely the dmd board like you said. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't one of the issues samsung fixes for free.

well I think there were a few model numbers for the same board depending on the size of tv it was used in. the refubished ones from samsungparts.com all have the part number bp94-02084a and one of the people over at the http://www.hometheatershack.com ordered it and the part number they shipped them...

it's not the lamp. i would say it's the color wheel. when they starting going out you can hear them. the barrings go bad.

I am not sure with your model. the dmd board is on the light engine. the digital board can be in many places. when you get the replacement part you take te back of the tv off and you should see it. there isn't any soldering. just make sure all the wires go on the currect jacks.

in the service menu you can pick the kind of lamp you are ussing. with the tv off hit mute 1 8 2 power. I forget what menu it's in but i know i saw it. you have to do it fast. it's going to cost more to convert it then it will cost to buy a new replacement lamp.

i am not sure are there any jumpers or anything on the color wheel. also check to make sure the wires are tight. make sure the ribbion cable is in the right way and not backwords. also you may of received a bad color wheel.

if it's stock it's most likely phillips but if you look at the lamp it also should tell you the brand. also with a new dmd board you have have to pick the brand of color wheel. that also can change the color. change the settings and if it makes it work then you know you found the issue. if not chang...

the good news is that if you are experiencing White Dot issues with your Samsung DLP, samsung will be taking care of that issue.

make sure the correct type of lamp you are using is picked in the service menu. if it has the wrong kind it will change the color of the video.

there are screws that that hold the dmd in place. if it's not alined correctly your video can tilt and also you can get black bars on the sides or top and bottom. I would leave it to a tech unless you are good with things.

that sound is normaly a color wheel. if the color wheel is not working it keeps the lamp from lighting.
