the power supplies in these are know to have cold solder joints. and they will give you this issue. the power supply is behind the analog board.

you should go into the service menu and reset the lamp hours. mute 1 8 2 power on the remote. It will also give you an idea of how many hours of use the tv has if the lady never reset it.

It maybe one of the settings. you maybe able to copy settings from the light engine. but not sure about your model. I know some things but not all. you may have to pick what kind of lamp you are using and things like that. if your board still powered on your set it would of been good to of copied do...

most likely the balast. normal if its the color wheel they make all kinds of sounds and you never would of got it up and working again. if you are handy check for bad solder joints in the balast. also check ebay for a used one you maybe able to save money. also check www.samsungparts.com

part number is bp94-02084A and it is the board that has the hdmi jack on the back of your tv. it's in a metal case. it also has the two screw on cable/ant jacks.

press mute 1 8 2 power when the tv is off. it will bring up the service menu. one of the options is to flip the video.

well the board isn't hard to open. you have to remove the screws. loosen the nuts around were the cable screws in. and you have to remove the bolt/screws for vga and dvdi. then the case comes right off. we found a guy to reflow the solder and it should fix your issue. http://jdelectronicsinc.com/ wh...

you could check on ebay for a color wheel to see if they have a lower price. you maybe better off to remove the color wheel and go by the part number.
you can also check the number on your lamp and dmd board to find out what one you have. and match the numbers on on the samsungparts.com web page

well i didnt solder it. I just make sure it fit against the top cover tight so it wouldnt move. Dear NEhelp, Thanks for all of the advice. I intend to order an analog board -- BP94-02049E -- probably from Samsungparts.com. What I dont get is that the tv runs a signal through the analog board then the digital board and then the dmd board. Once there a picture is displayed on the screen. So if the digital inputs work fine wouldnt that rule out the digital and dmd board, leaving the problem at the analog board. I worked...

it's most likely the digital board. the digital board puts out an dvi cable that goes into the dmd board. think of the dmd board as being a computer monitor. and the digital board as being a computer video card. if your tv is a model HL-R6167W this is a comon issues. after the tv worked I opened it back up and took the photos. I added the heat sink to make sure the foil didn't short out the digital board.

when you take the cover off the digital board you see a chip close to the dvi output on the board. with my tv I put a ball of foil on there making sure it doesn't short out against anything eles. it has to be big enough so when you push the case back on it cashes down iand t sqeezes the chip down.
