Samsung HLP5063 doesn't work

I was watching my HLP5063 the other day and heard a pop, followed my something that sounded like a falling DVD and the color went out of the picture. I shut the TV off and tried to restart, now I get a whirring noise that starts off constant then after a few seconds it begins to pulse (like is speeding up then slowing down) the lamp flashes and the TV won't turn off using the button on the front. Had to unplug to shut off the TV. Any suggestions...color wheel maybe?
