HL-P5063W no power after replacing color wheel

Postby cableghost » Mon Oct 03, 2011 12:24 am

I replaced the color wheel (complete with housing) on my Samsung, and after putting the unit back together (less the back panel), it won't start.

It appears I plugged the copper-looking flat cable in correctly, as the side with the contacts faces the contacts on the connection housing (metal side facing rear of TV).

The Stand by/Power/Lamp lights flash. There's no clicking, I don't hear the color wheel starting up, etc.

The TV was working prior to replacing the color wheel, except for the whining noise :-)

I replaced the lamp 6 months ago with a new bulb.

My unit already had the air-bearing color wheel, so the jumper is already removed.

I took the light box, or whatever they call the unit, back out, and reconnected all cables, etc.

Any advise would be appreciated.

Doh...not placing the back on the set was the issue. I had not realized, there's a toggle switch, probably to prevent bright stars like myself from turning on the set with the back off :?
