Model HLN567W Component Inputs 2 & 3 not working

Postby TLNSoccer » Tue Apr 20, 2010 11:55 pm

I have a Samsung 60" DLP Model# HLN567WX/XAA that has always worked but unfortunately when I recently moved I can no longer get a picture when I hook my cable box; via component cables, into Component Inputs 2 & 3. Component input 1 works for lower def channels but goes to a blue screen once I try to view high definitions channels. The Component Input 1 handles 480i; Component Input 2 handles 780 and Component Input 3 handles 1080i.

I have walked through my cable company’s tech support numerous times to no avail.

Help..... I can't stand not being able to view high definition channels.....

OK; in reading alot of the other posts on this site I am now even more confused by what my TV is doing. After posting that my Component inputs were not working I reconnected my cable box; via component cables, to component 3 and then turned the TV on. I heard sound but as soon as the lamp warmed up I got a blue screen that said "Not supported mode". I punched in Mute 1; 8; 2; power and was able to get a picture and sound. The TV worked for a couple of days until last night when in the middle of a show the picture and audio disappeared and all I get is the blue screen with "Not supported mode" on it. I have tried the Mute 1; 8; 2; power thing a couple of times to no avail.

Not sure what to try next. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am guessing you have a bad analog board. try hooking your tv up using the dvi port. that supports up to 1080i. also I am guessing that unplugging and replugging in the cables may of broken the solder for the jacks. This happens with the analog board if you unplug and replug things in over and over. but i don't know why your tv is saying unsuported mode. you can get cables that go from hdmi to dvi so you can hook up the hd cable box or sat to the dvi jack.

http://www.discount-merchant.com/SAMSUN ... 162684.htm

also your tv is a 56" the first two numbers of a model number are the screen size

I looked the part number up. this part is from a 61" but it's the same part number your tv takes.

if you look it cost a lot less at discount merchant

http://www.partstore.com/Part/Samsung/S ... A/New.aspx

DicountMerchant $119
Partstore $212

Jason,

The DVI cable worked great; thank you for the information. I will have to order the analog board at a later date.

Thank you.

if you are handy with a soldering iron you maybe able to repair your analog board. thats if the issue really is solder joints. it may not be the issue. glad to hear the dvi jack works.
