Samsung - DLP HLP4663 - Yellow blotches

Postby stubblejumpr » Wed Apr 21, 2010 3:28 am

TV is about 4.5 years old. This just started today "suddenly". I have massive yellow blotches everywhere. Sometimes some nice blue blotches as well. Color wheel replaced about 8 months ago (exploded) and bulb about 6 months ago. There's no hum or anything like I had just before the color wheel "blew". It's dead quiet. The menu is also effected.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

It could be a bad color wheel. if it's not spinning at the right speed. could be a bad dmd chip or a bad dmd board. I am guessing it's one of them since it even shows up on the menu. I guess it does this on all inputs also. I guess it could even be a bad digital board.

check your local craigslist or on ebay for a local parts tv. same model of family hlp__63 . you may even find a larger one that is repairable from parts from your tv.

You may even find one on ebay were the seller is willing to ship you all the parts from the inside. have him send all boards and the light engine.
