HELP!! Samsung Model HLR4667WAX/XAA

Postby Wooderson » Mon May 31, 2010 10:42 am

I've had this set for a few years now and replaced the original lamp twice. I'm about 4 months into this lamp. I try to turn on the tv and it won't fire up. The only thing I hear is what appears to be a low tapping sound inside the set. The bell will sound and the process starts all over before finally flashing the lamp out signal on the front of the set.

Your help is appreciated!!

Hello Wooderson.
That tapping sound, is it like a clicking sound? Dose it sound twice or more? It’s very probable it’s the ballast not having enough voltage to turn on the lamp. How ever there is one small possibility, a defective or broken color wheel can make a similar sound (humming) while its spins. My recommendation is to inspect the color wheel physically. If its not shattered or broken then the prime suspect would be the ballast.
If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.
Good luck.
