Samsung HLR5067WAX/XAA issues

Postby somuchfun » Mon Jun 14, 2010 8:27 pm

Hello all,

New to the forum. Started having a problem a few months ago where picture would randomly freeze almost every half hour for 5-10 secs...then be perfectly fine for another 30 mins. Well, now it does it almost every minute (audio will play for another 10 seconds before audio drops as well). Now it doesn't always turn on with first try, will not always respond to remote commands. Will work fine for hours, then start to freeze every 5 mins. Sometimes on reboot will display dark frozen image with only green coloring. Sometimes will display all bright screen in green. Sometimes light and dark green bars. Have been trying to read other posts to pin down a problem and not sure where to start. Bulb appears to be on and bright in the back. Took cover off to vacuum out as much dust as possible. No error lights in front power button.

Any ideas?

Hello somuchfun.
Before we get into deep technical detail, there are a few of suggestions. First try to clean the inside of the TV free of dust & mold, so we can discard overheating as the cause of your problems. My second recommendation is that you disconnect all of the cables from the back of the TV, now with just the power cord plugged in turn on the TV. Turn it on and see if you get the same symptoms. If yes, then there are two probable causes. One being the digital video board, and second the DMD board. The first thing I could recommend is that you reset the setting back to factory default. This could be done by the TV menu or by pressing a small round button located on the digital video board near the memory chips & processor. If buy this point you remote doesn’t respond 100% of the time, then its very probable that you have a defective digital board, how ever if the remote issue is fix but you still have the other issues, then I would go for a new DMD board.
If you do decide to buy any part, remember to look online buy part number & TV model.
Good luck.
