Vertical line

I have a 56 inch samsung dlp. It has a 3 inch vertical gray line on the left side. Does anyone have a clue what it could be from and what part to replace?

It sounds like you have a case of a collapsed light tunnel, to find out more check this link. viewtopic.php?f=21&t=1353 dose it appear in the component cables & HDMI? Try to bring up the TV menu, see if the vertical gray line also affects it. If so then it’s a defective DMD board. if you have any more questions feel free to ask.
