Hello,

I imagine you are working around the service menu of your television. I do not think the iris can be adjusted manually, I am not sure about this model but most DLP technology uses automatic iris and only certain settings can be adjusted like "Dynamic Iris" etc..

Getting your hands on a service manual is hard. I looked for some on ebay.com for models/years of production with no luck. They seem to be only accessible to Samsung certified techs, or to technicians who have received formal training, not so much DIY like us..

Sorry hopefully someone out there can be of some help!

Hi I have a service manual. I'm kinda looking for an explaination on some of the functions. If you'd like I could try and send you a copy.

So as to the Iris, like I mentioned most are auto or dynamic, self adjusting. Is there a particular problem with your set?

Yes THANK YOU!

I think I got it from the same site as you. It covers similar models just ranging in screen size. They all seem to have automatic iris... could not find what seq to adjust..

You had any luck?

I've gone on to different problems for right now. I've been researching why my dlp freezes , turns off and back on again. Think I'm gonna try and find someone to reflow boards. I'm learning how to calibrate the unit also. That's why I was trying to brush up on the service menu lingo. I've had it for years and I'm finally gonna try and get it as close to right as I can. Thanks for your time!

Oh ok, is there's a chipset you need to reflow without having to re-solder it, you can do so by turning it upsidedown, covering it with tin foil and going at it with a heat gun.. let me know if you want me to post a vid..

No problem at all, while i look around and find a DV board, here is a link to my favorite video on youtube.com I always skip the oven, just take the hot air gun to the chip for about 2-3 minutes.. take a look:
