Samsung HL56A650C1FXZA Help - Unit Not Powering Up

Postby hhellin » Wed Jan 07, 2015 3:07 am

Our Samsung HL56A650C1FXZA manufactured circa 2004 has been a wonderful television with a great picture which is why we have not upgraded to the newer HD models. In the last year, we have had to replace the DLP chip due to 'white spots' developing slowly on the screen and then a couple of months ago, we replaced the bulb - in which we purchased 2 a few years back in the event we would eventually have to replace. The other day, without any warning, the tv powered off with all 3 led lights blinking and with a faint sound of the unit trying to 'reset' itself to no avail. I unplugged it from the power source for an hour, plugged it back in and the same thing - no picture or sound and the 3 blinking led lights and sound of the restart cycling on/off. Being that we just recently replaced the bulb, we are thinking that something else has caused this malfunction. I have read about resetting the counter, but cannot reason as to why that would cause the tv to power off. We have not tried doing this as it seems from other posts there is difficulty in doing this - in any success at all. Looking for suggestions - really do not want to go shopping for a new one just yet! Thanks!

Hey ! it could be the possibility that you might need to replace the ballast board
