Cleaning the inside mirror

Can I clean the inside large mirror on my HLT6187SX/XAA ? Getting ready to change the DLP chip and noticed the mirror looks dirty.

well i do believe you can clean it using a can of compressed air.

Not sure air will do trick, it looks like a film on mirror.Looks like stsndard mirror,can I use Windex?

I cleaned my optics with a damp microfiber cloth when I had it apart for the DMD change. The microfiber cloth won't scratch.
I am not sure if that mirror is a primary surface mirror so, I would use caution. Mine came out just fine. I cleaned everything in the optical path except the screen itself.
I would avoid Windex due to the ammonia.

Thanks for all the input.
Changed the DLP chip today, all went well and only took a hour. I did watch the You Tube video on how
to change a DLP chip, I think it was very useful. Cleaning the large inside mirror I use a Micro Fiber cloth and water, no
streaks and it look perfect. Started TV and no more dots,need to look into couple other issues. The Blue light stays on all
the time under start button,went into setting but it comes back on. Must be a problem in one of the boards,has anyone got a idea
on this?. I do have one bulging capacitor on power board,not sure if want to tackle it or wait until it quits.

If it were my TV, I would replace the suspect capacitor(s). It can't be that daunting a task.

A sure way would be to remove and take them to a local radio schack... or since most are color/shape molded, ID them physically online to save a bit..
