HLR6768W blinking flashing screen lights PLEASE HELP!

Postby antero » Thu Jul 09, 2015 11:26 pm

Got 2 different lamps with same problems, changed the ballast with a probable used one found online and worked good for 6 months, after inspected the ballast I couldn't see any leaking or burn out, color wheel appears to be working fine since I can't hear any loud noises and the picture color looks perfect, I'm kind of lost and before I pent money buying a anew ballast from samsungparts I will like to hear some opinions.

Do I have a bad ballast problem?, any help will be appreciated in your comments.

Thanks

The actual ballast I installed 6 months ago was purchased at Tri-State Module:

The price was lower than the 50% of what samsung parts asked, so I wonder if they used refurbished or used parts and that it's the source of my problem.

Hi,

I guess with two handy ballasts and one probably "rescued" since when they are working they find no need to refurbish them in my experience.. I would rule out the power supply out put with a multimeter just in case, but that is highly unlikely to be the cause.

Now the lamps you have, are those OEM Philips? As you might have noticed Samsung uses Philips lamps.. the other just do not last as long as they should. If they are Philips, how long have they been working?

My reasoning is that even though both lamps you have are "saying" your ballast is bad, I have been there before and a new lamp has been the solution..

I hope I can help!

Thanks for the post reply!

Just to update, the new ballast from samsungparts arrived and after installation the problem was resolved, so I guess the lesson here is NEVER buy a rescued or used part, at least for me I'm done with Tri-State Module.

Yay congrats!

And yes if I MUST buy a "recovered" or "rescued" part I make sure I but off an eBay seller with a great reputation, lots of sales, great positive feedback and of course A LOOSE RETURN POLICY hehehe.

Have a good one!
