Re: Samsung DLP HL-T5075S White Dotssal
Submitted on 2009/02/17 at 12:20am same problem here Samsung DLP 42″ after 1 1/2 year 2 white dots appear (like stars) then in a few weeks i have 7 white dots, called samsung and they said warranty is up they cant come and help me. Does anyone have figured out how to take the white dots off from the screen? thanks
Re: Samsung DLP HL-T5075S White DotsMy HLR-5067 has had these for awhile now. They almost look like faint beams of light reflecting off something. I haven't been brave enough to open it up and try cleaning since I'm out of warranty. I figure eventually the light engine will need to be replaced, and maybe that will take care of it.
Re: Samsung DLP HL-T5075S White Dotsshrikedoa,
I would check the colorwheel. It could be that the colorwheel is starting to come apart between the colors segments or one of the color segments may be cracked. Let us know if you have any updates.
Re: Samsung DLP HL-T5075S White DotsIs that something I can visually check? I've never opened the tv...
Re: Samsung DLP HL-T5075S White Dotsshrikedoa,
Yes.. You would have to physically open your TV to inspect the color wheel. There is a nice guide for changing the color wheel available here: http://guides.fixyourdlp.com/samsung/bp96-01579a.php Let us know how it goes.
Re: Samsung DLP HL-T5075S White DotsAny updates on this problem guys? I have the same problem on my Samsung....
Re: Samsung DLP HL-T5075S White DotsHi Neraj,
The white dots issue means that some of the micro mirrors of your DMD panel (the panel on the DMD chip) are stuck. I recommend you to replace your DMD board. However just to be sure you can check if the white dots appear on the TV menu as well, if so then go ahead and replace the part, if they don't, get back to me. Hope this helps.
